On the newest issue of import tuner they did a power page on the amazing 4g63. With Just 3 simple mods they were able to put 106.7 more hp and 80 tq to the wheels. Baseline test of the 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse was 183.6 hp and 198.6 tq with simple bolt-ons such as cat-back, cone filter, and mbc (not sure of the mbc) I believe.
Baseline hp and tq= 183.6hp and 198.6tq

1) Apexi N1 Downpipe gained 36.3 hp and 30.1 tq but with boost spiking to 17 psi and also hitting fuel cut.
Eclipse hp and tq= 219.9hp and 228.7tq

2) HKS FCD gained 47.2hp and 24.1tq with boost spiking 17 psi again but leveling off at 15psi.
Eclipse hp and tq=267.1hp and 252.8tq

3) Holley 255 LPH forced induction Fuel Pump gained 23.2hp and 25.6tq.
Eclipse hp and tq=290.3hp and 278.4tq!!!

With just these 3 parts the 1g Eclipse Dynoed close to 300hp and 280tq and again for a under 300 hp to the wheels with the stock 14b turbo.. aint the 4g63 amazing! :rudolph:

I dont know how these people (import tuner) have the courage to publish these bullsh*t. The 14b will never make 295hp on 17lbs. I mean 300hp is a low-13 high-12 1/4 mile. Luckly for them i dont have my flag.

Uh, I think it did. They didn't pull those numbers out of thin air. Now they did get some crazy high numbers out of each of their mods, but unless someone shows that their dyno is inaccurate, I'll beleive it.

I read that article and it amazes me that honda guys still pay 10 times as much for the same type of gains. The magazine could have done more for less too.

Look at Phil Beers numbers and realize he's about the best you can do on 14b (other then reitman's 11.8 with more mods). Keep in mind he dynos @~20psi and 116.

Also for reference take a look at Hidley's (~260whp) and his 14b goes 12.8 on pump gas.

No way in hell 17 to 15psi on 14b is going to put down 290whp.

Import Tuners numbers always seemed more of engine dyno then chassis dyno numbers to me.

Those numbers are a little fishy for my liking... I only wish it were that easy. 600 bucks for 107hp!! But it just isn't happening in my eyes.

Who in the holy horse shit does a Fuel Cut Defender pull of 47+ hp to the wheels?????????

I got fuel cut on my 2g, so if I buy that HKS hick-a-ma-dooey can I add almost 50hp?

Damn that would get me to well over 300hp at the wheels:rolleyes:

Or I could stuff a taco in my tail pipe and see if my car gains 70whp from Super Bean Bruttiro Powas!!!!!

300 HP on stock fuel injectors???

300 HP on stock fuel rail, fpr, lines???

What fuel pressure were they running? 90 psi!!!

How soon after the dyno did they melt a piston?

I ran a 13.2 on my 14b but with 550cc injectors, ugraded fuel lines, afpr, 2g MAS, AFC and 3" turbo back and that only put out 256 HP. I've seen a 14b do a low 12 on a built motor and head, but never with 3 simple bolt-ons with a stock motor.

This must have been a pre-modded motor solely for the glory of advertisement.

That's some serious BS.

The 1g rocks, as does the 14b... but...no... not 300hp to the wheels with 3 mods.

Speaking... if they were running a *stock* car, theyd need to put a K&N onto it, and a catback, MBC, gauges etc. which were not listed in those 3 mods- Also...

Stock flywheel 195hp/200tq -15% drivetrain = 165hp/170tq to the wheels

Their baseline hp and tq= 183.6hp and 198.6tq (still assuming the 15% losses) to the wheels

That means their car was making 216hp/234tq off the flywheel. The 14b has enough top end to get more HP and more TQ when modded... but you cant get 30tq more then stock with no other mods, so that car couldnt have been stock...
