i am getting all sorts of crazy readings on my avcr, and after completely resoldering the rpm signal wire on it, it still isn't working. so i'm thinking whatever sends the rpm signal could be screwed up. whenever i have the car out of gear just coasting, the engine is around 700 rpms, but the avcr shows it spiking all over the place. plus it spikes at idle too.

on my pocketlogger, i'm not getting weird readings, but it will only show the rpms in multiples of 31. meaning it goes 1000, 1031, 1062.... etc etc, it doesn't show any numbers in between.

quick question, the avcr rpm wire has to be soldered in two places to the rpm signal wire (like the safc i assume) but since the ecu wire was so short, i spliced in a slightly thicker wire to make it easier to work with, think this could be affecting my readings?

Which ECU pin are you talking about?

I think the ECU uses the CAS signal (pin 21) to count RPMs but the tach uses pin 109.

The SAFC has two ground wires that need to be seperated but on the same ground wire and you cut the air flow with from the MAF. Everything else is a simple tap. So, I don't follow you.
