Congrats to Adam G of NYCCDSM and HSP for his passes made last sunday. Adam's post to NYCCDSM

Track day today

I'll make this short and sweet.

90minutes to f*ckin do inspection

First pass (230pm): 13.1

Someone blows up in the right lane, spits oil all over the lane. His oppenent also blew up in the left lane, spewing shit all over. (90+min cleanup)

Second Pass (~4pm): 13.6

This was supposed to be our last pass since they had to finish up eliminators... Got two more passes.

Third Pass: 12.41@109
1.84 60'

Got a fourth pass in, but no time to stop and cool cool down..stage up again right away

Fifth Pass: 12.21@109
1.76 60'

I think that makes me 4th fastest auto in the nation with out the bottle. 8th overall.

Slowly climbing up the ladder!!

The race gas as finally kicking in the 3rd pass. Can't tune well on four passes.
The car will see 11's VERY SOON!!! (on this setup)

the set up? 98 AWD Stock motor except for a MLS headgasket and studs. 1G TB, HSP ported intake, HSP proport mani, turbo and o2,Tial 35mm W/G, AGP L2 turbo (57 trim), HSP 3" ehxt, HSP strait shot pipeing, 18" FMIC, Springs and adj shocks, PE 9" converter, HSP built trany

leather car with heavy aftermarket rims ( ROH, hey we live in pot hole heaven, NY ) 17's and the car was spinning bad out of the hole. But still pulled a 1.76 60'

Congrats, with some more tuning we will get the car in the 11's and still a stock motor!

Congrats Adam.

Thats awesome!!! But thats it, as soon as the track opens, my ass is going 11's on my 16g. It stuff like this that really makes me want to stay auto, I will see how far I can get on the trans before it blows then i will swap. But its always hard to say exactly were you stand compared to all the other auto's out there, mainly because not everyone posts their times. But those times are impressive none the less. On a side note, my car is just as fast:D, but not quite as quick.........yet.

the car was not in the best tune and this was working the booist up to 25-27 PSI range. I know we have a lot more in it and want to see some 11.7 before years end. The 16G in the 11's? I doin't know if it will have enough flow for the top end. this was with a car that is still VERY heavy and with some weight out we will be goo to go. the last 2 12 sec passes we had some knock on the top end and with that pulling the timming out of the car hurt the ET and MPH. the car with 7 less PSI went 110 in the past. So I know it has it in it.

the Trans is built by us and is a PE unit 9" I can stall the car past 4500 if I like but the runs were made holding 4200-4000 @ 21 PSI. as soon as I lift the car is at 27 and on the way. I have to get some new pics on the site. we changed the upper IC pipe again and changed the TB and elbow also. Looks better and runs hard.

Don't think this is with out problems. the trany is now slipping in the shift but holding in gear and in Od (????) it will come out this week and we will know. I am doing a lot of R&D with the trany to see what works and what is blowing away. Alto isn't ready wuith the clutches ( draging feet!!) so right now I am back to the blend clutch pack but it did take a good amount of abuse.. Some more tricks ( and trust me I have many ) are still to come but soon we hope to be trying another clutch brank that is SAYING 30% more area, we will see and what we are going to do is build a trany let adam make some runs with it and pull it apart. then do the same with the others and see what lasts.

torque raito is a 2.1:1 or 2:1 and where Protorque uis a 1.5:1 -1.8:1 we still have a PT unit in house from this car that is for sale. we used it for about 6 months and then wen't to the looser PE unit ( that rattles BTW!! )

Only question is are you guys going to start offering built a/t's?
thats a good question. I am actually thinking about keeping with the automatic. And if I do I am sure I will need one soon. Let us know.

Im gonna try for it. I ran the 12.90 with full weight(including spare tire and a bunch of tools), 20 psi, 93octane, street tires. I also have slicks, and just with the slicks I am sure I could pull a 12.50. Then I am gonna run race gas, 24 psi, and I should be able to lose 300+ pounds by the time I hit the track again. It will be close, but we will see.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Other than my 12.21 pass, the day sucked. I just want a day at the track were I can make more than 4 passes!!!

I think next time i'm gonna dump the race gas in a few miles before the track, that way I can get it mixed in by the time I make my first run (and possibly do some pre-tuning on the highway).

The car was breaking up like crazy the first two passes and didn't even get a chance to datalog the last two runs since I had to make them fast and back to back since it was getting dark and they were closing up.

Hopefully my tranny will be up and running again so I can hit my 11.7 mark for this year. We shall see...

Stay tuned!

Great run and good work Adam. Very motivational for those of us with Garage Queen, Money-pit Dsm's that await a new crankshaft (goes in on Thanksgiving...kinda ironic I think).

...I'd been contemplating a high stall converter but ruled it out due to all the city driving the car does daily (when it's not spinning rod bearings :puke: ) ...moreover if I have to pull and install the motor one more time this year I think I'll slit my wrists (especially if I drop the transfer case on my fingers again! :eeek: ) so a new converter is out... unnnleeesssss a certain built Mustang is still quicker (I'm looking for 12.9's)....

We do offer built auto's, Contact me on the side for info.

I would say that the 9" PE is very streetable even in a city. The converter only stalls high when under boost since torque stall is rated by how much power it's making. the car won't roll like stock with just the foot off the brake but the gas only takes a tap to make it start rolling. The PE is much like the the protorque in its driveability but the PE stall higher. the gain in the launch ment a lot less abuse to the front clutch. We were reving the PT unit to 4000 also but that was burning the front clutch since we were well past the stall of the converter. ( still have the Protorque unit for sale :D 2GAWD )

ya that MPH was low. Picking up knock in the top of 3rd. Pulled the MPH down a lot. the car in the past has run 110MPH @ 12.6 Since then we changed the head gasket to a MLS, ARP's, Spprings and shocks, Rims and tires (heavy but strong, it's a street car ;) ) the spring and shock combo helped the 60" a lot and this is where the car was faster. I know the car had 11's in it, it was just not enough time. More top end tuning and we will get this thing in the 112-115+MPH range
