Figured I'd give an update on the suspension development. At the 1000 kilometer mark I had to give an update on the suspension(to much data to be specific about). Needless to say Everything I reported was nothing short of spectacular. The system is performing great. Around the 500 kilomark I added Whiteline bushings to the suspension. Now currently waiting on some new trick 22milli whiteline swaybars. This should complete the majority of the footwork.

Back to the development of the AWD Tein coilover kit. Like I was previously told it will be a Super Street damper kit. I was also informed that the initial offering will be only available with pillowball uppers. Which means the price goes up. expect the price to be in the 1200-1500 dollar range.

What's up with the thick wheel spacers? Running some funky offset or something? From the outside the wheels look normal, what gives?

Also what did tein do to the upper control arm? I notice it has a poly bushing and is brite green (duh) anything intresting there?

hey guys,
I don't know about his spacers, but on his webpage ArcticTsi says that when he did the bushings he spray-painted the uppers a matching green. If I didn't know better I'd say that they were tein's also. :D I've said it before and I'll say it again. ArcticTsi has one of the most thoroughly put together cars. Period. Alot of it is in his details like painting the upper arms a matching green. Later.

Sorry guys, been out of town.

The "wide tread" spacers are made by Battle Club. They are 25mm. I just use them when I put on my Road Race wheels, 18 X 9 Volk F1-Challenge's. Otherwise they would not fit, they would rub the springs, the spacer pushes them out just enough to clear.

The upper control arm is the factory original. After I burned ou the stock bushing I sanded the arm down and shot it with several coats of Krylon Emerald Green Gloss which is a close match to the "Tein" green.

The yellow bushings are Whiteline Camber bushings which give about 3 extra degrees of camber adjustment over the stock cababilities.

As for heights and alignments, yes you should do alignments after changing rides heights. I do them my self and have for at least a dozen years. Money i get to keep in my pocket.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

Another pic for you'll

$750 Tein's

The are called the "Basic Damper" Which if you loock on page 43 of Super Street Mag for July 03, Volume 15 No 07. Under the Basic Damper you can see the 95 - 99 eclipse has the coilovers available for $750 on either AWD or FWD. In fact, every on listed is $750 except 2, so most all of them are only $750. What I wouldnt give for them for a first gen!! Well, I guess I"d give $750 :D

Well, Guys sorry for the lack of info on this and lack of updates. I have had some serious personal matters to tend to,

But The production number has been finalized! So you should be able within a couple of weeks to start to order the
Tein Super Street Damper!

Part Number is: EDKU1-12140

They will come standard with
504lb spring in front
392lb spring in the rear

Like I had mentioned in a previous post they will only be available with Pillow ball uppers, so that drives the cost up

1400 bucks give or take a markup

I have also have in the past months revamped my site so here are the corrected links to the original pics!

Not sure if this was ever mentioned before. What type of poly bushings are you using with the kit? I also noticed you don't seem to have a rear camber problem, yet I see no mods for rear camber adjustment. Are the upper control arms fitted with Whiteline adjustment bushings or what?

Okay guys here we go. I Quoted you guys the wrong part number!

That part number I gave you was for the EDFC!

Any TEIN authorized dealer should be able to special order the units for you

The Actual Coil-Over Kit Number Is:

Tein Super Street Damper
Eclipse(AWD) D27A models: 89-94

EDKU1-12140
TEIN EDFC(Electronic Damping Force Controller)
Eclipse(AWD) D27A models 89-94

hey guys,
This is awesome that Arctic's custom work has led to a set of Tein's coilovers being available for 1gs. I've been considering JIC's when it comes time to mod the suspension, but having the added option of the EDFC might just bring me back to Tein.

Now for something completely off topic:
I was looking at Arctic's last set of pictures and saw his hammer. I thought to my self he should paint it (minus handle) the Krylon green. May be paint the handle a yellow like his bushings. I know this sounds completely stupid, but just thought I would share. I wonder sometimes too where I come up with some of my thoughts.

All my bushings are made by Whiteline, out of Australia. And yes I have the Whiteline Upper Control Arm Camber Bushings. They gave be more than enough camber correction for my 2" drop.

The Whiteline Camber Bushings are part # KCA365

ArcticTsi can you list the part #s for all the bushings? What about the front?
The camber correction bushings for the rear are Whiteline number:

KCA365

yes that are for the Galant VR4, T/E/L AWD(1G's)

The front I have just whiteline standard replacement bushings, they are not the camber correcting type. I have Tein Camber plates of front.
