Well I dropped my girlfriend off at her friends house the other night and she ended up getting in trouble with her parents so I was kinda pissed. So I was coming home on the vard (those that live in northern utah know what I mean). I never cruise the vard and when I do I don't race but like I said I was kinda pissed.

So I pull up to this light with a Prelude with a fart can and a dsm. I thought it was turbo dsm(or at least hoped). So we started going normally and the talon gunned it so he got about a car by the time I stepped on it. By the time first gear was done he was at my fender and by the middle (5500 rpms) of second I was 2 cars ahead. I was like wow I killed a turbo dsm (I'm pretty stock). Then later he was ahead of me turning around to cruise the vard again  and I saw it was a Talon DL. I felt like a ricer after that. Still made me feel a little bit better about the whole situation though. Can't wait til I can throw some real mods on my car.

I think so too....

At least you won! If you had lost I would have felt bad for you! lol

I'm pretty sure(not entirely) that you can tell the difference between a 4g63turbo/non-turbo 1G by looking at the muffler. This is considering it's stock. The turbo ones usually have dual tips.

Ive got a "top of the line" eclipse GS... theres like no visual diffence at all, except the rims are different. They are still some nice 16s... just not the same design... body kit, side paneling, dual tip muffler, wing, all the same...

I think the dual muffler tips was for the 4g43 in general, on 1gs and 2gs...

I see a lot of n/t with dual outlet mufflers. the muffler tip check works on 2gs.

On n/ts I usually can tell by the hubcaps/wheels and sideskirts.
Mine had dual tips stock, it's the 1.8's that don't, and maybe earlier ones.

There is that little badge on the side of the car that says 16 dohc valve turbo right? And on the back, you can't miss the lettering of the 1g's lol

People mistake mine for a turbo all the time, I get mustangs playing with me all the time, yesterday it was an A4, I need a conversion or something so I can play back :(

All of the decals were taken off my car when it got repainted. I even took off the AWD logo. Wish I could get some mustangs to play with me. That's why i was wondering if there was a way to take the "Mitsubishi" logo off of the back of a 1G (Had apost up a while back asking). This way no one would know what model of car I drive. Most people don't even know now what kind of car it is. Poor bastards. But I can HEAR what kind of car many of them drive from ten blocks away. As soon as I hear that "bumblebee" I know whats coming!:D

Oh my driving skills are really good (launching not perfect but I can rip gears in the blink of an eye).

Keep in mind this is once he got into his "powerband" (lol) and I was starting at like 1500rpms so I gotta wait for my turbo to spool. Plus granny shifting at 6000k (I only go all out if I'm ready for the race and not just spur of the moment).

As far as being tuned. I have a datalogger but that's not gonna help my tuning. Stock boost as well (once again only go all out if I know I'm gonna be racing) so I'm probably running a little rich. I have a 90 so my O2 voltage is different then everyone elses so can't tell you what it's like on that end.

I need more mods  :(

I too, had a 94 dl as my first car. I liked it, a good looking car too. I had it for over three years and sold it to my best friend about a year ago when I got my GST. She's now got over 105,000 miles.

Not bad for a HS kid paying for it with a job bagging groceries. ;)
