Hallman boost controller, AEM plug & play (mild tune), Excedy clutch (that was slipping), K&N drop in filter (stock air box), full HKS exhaust, race gas and thats it. Tym ran it a few times at the track during the EVO Subaru shootout and it ran 11.8's consistantly and he stopped due to clutch slippage. EVERYTHING else is stock and full wieght. Funny thing is that its his wifes daily driver. With such few mods it makes me want to get one for the fun of it.

Stanford said:Good time but I hardly consider that "near" stock. Full Exhaust and a AEM Standalone do not come come cheap.
He didn't run in the EVO vs WRX shootout....he ran this elsewhere.samuraitekno said:which one was he.. i took pics of almost every run and i dont remember that
So what if the computer was changed. Stock turbo, injectors, fuel pump, etc. It would be less impressive to me if it have a reflashed ECU or SAFC and a larger turbo, injectors, etc.Steeltwo said:full exhaust
**standalone**
and a $1500 clutch
a dsm wtih
an intake, exhaust and MBC is considered lightly modded.
near stock to me is a drop in ,mbc and maybe a catback.
when you put an entirerly different computer in a car, honestly, it is no longer in the "near stock" catagory.
we each have our definitions it seems.4SFED4 said:So what if the computer was changed. Stock turbo, injectors, fuel pump, etc. It would be less impressive to me if it have a reflashed ECU or SAFC and a larger turbo, injectors, etc.
After allowing the engine to breath the biggest asset is the AEM P&P. Most peoples' problem with that is:
A. They can't afford it.
B. They don't know how to use it.
C. If "B." applies it cost alot more to get it right.
IMO: lack of funds and/or knowlege shouldn't be a deciding factor with the number of major components left unchanged![]()
What can a '03 Cobra do with a pulley upgrade, K&N, X-pipe and catback?CuriousGeorg51 said:boost controller, exhuast, tuning.......can an STI do that? Or any other car below $40k?
