i was wondering if i can get the t-25 into at least high 13's if so what all else do i need, i would like to get the most out of this turbo b4 i go and upgrade it. What is the fastest i can go on this turbo and fwd???

Not likely.
A friend has done 14.01 on a t-25 with alot of supporting
mods, timing was advanced etc. still 14's mind you it was
close. Good luck.. I hope you do it.
I'm a fwd as well.

I dont know about you guys, but my best time is 13.8 with supporting mods & lots suspension mods, including tires.I regularly pull 14.0-13.9 on an ok day. You can have all the mods in the world, but if you dont have a good suspension system and tires than youll never see good ET's. And yes my times are on street tires.

#5 ·
well i dont know his mods, but i can tell you he is fwd.

There are several people on these forums that have run 13's with the stock t-25 and fwd. Suspension is key and the launch is key! If you can achieve 2.0 60ft times. The fastest time I have seen posted with a proven timeslip was a 13.6. With the mods that I have I should be able to hit 13's, because I have run very well against two ss camaro's on the streets in the past. I also don't think it can be done on heavy wheel and tire combo's either. One of the reasons I think you don't see many good times is because not many people have the stock t-25 any more they don't give the t-25 a chance. Yes, it is a small turbo but it is capable. I have also seen 270 to 280hp dyno charts before, so the power is there, it is just a matter of getting it to the ground. Later!

What kind of traps for those ETs?

If I can remember correctly they were around 101-102mph traps.

13's...

A friend of mine has ran a 13.5,13.6 in a 97 GS-T.He has the supporting mods.K&N intake,Greddy SP exhaust & ic pipes & Type S bov,Apexi AVCR,Reactive 9mm wires,Upgrade fuel pump.He also has his suspension upgrades. That's the key as stated before.I know he has a coil-over kit and adjustable shocks, strut braces(front, rear, rear lower). His traps were around 105 mph or so.This is my same goal before i upgrade my turbo.

My car ran a 14.3@99 with a 2.3 60 foot time. (16psi/BPU mods..yada yada.) With a good 60 foot time that might have been a 13 sec pass or maybe if I would have ran race gas/w more boost as well. There are a few people who have ran 13's but given the average track times people tend to run it is not likely. It's possible..depends on your car. I think everyone will agree some cars are better then others from the factory. Bushcur got like 222?hp out of a 98 GST with 20psi and race gas and supporting mods with some crazy high amount of torque..like 270 or something...The guy above said he's seen dyno plots of 270's or higher..I personaly haven't seen this, but I'm not going to say it can't happen...doesn't mean everyone will have the same outcome though...when it comes to a question like this you need to look at the average and not what a handfull of people have accomplished. On average I'm going to say low 14's in a FWD is what to expect from the T-25. Just my .02, lets go buy some gum.

That's 270 to 280 hp at the crank. 221 222 hp at the wheels is around 270 at the crank with a 15% to 17% driveline loss on a fwd. Look at the porsche boxter s for instance, motortrend magazine got a 13.9 out of it recently in a test. They are rated at 250hp and 225ft.lbs of torque from the factory and weigh pretty similar to our cars. My car with me in it and a 1/4 tank of gas weighed in at 3120lbs, and I weigh 225lbs. But like I said before you would probably see more 13 second time slips out there if everybody and there brother didn't upgrade so soon. It's just most people know the t-25 turbo lacks in top end. From red light to red light on the streets the t-25 will hold it's own, because of the quick spool up time. I also have that same import tuner where buschur got 221 hp and 289ft.lbs of torque at the wheels, it is the fall 1998 edition. Later fellas!!

I ran a 14.0@93 with my GSX on the T25. Basically a full 3" exhaust and intake, MBC@16.5PSI.

That was on pump gas with a catalytic converter.

You could run 13s easy with a T25 if you do some more mods. Run race gas, run an open exhaust, nitrous, etc.

Just depends how far you want to go.

A guy I used to hang out with ran a 14.0 at 95 miles an hour with a 1.7 60 foot time with a t-25. His mods were: Akomoto air filter, upper IC pipe, first gen blow off valve, and a homemade boost control. Were not sure what the boost was set at because we didn't even have a boost gauge, but I know he used to fuel cut at least once a week before he put the boost gauge in and coming back from the track we got fuel cut in his car on the highway. He said he was launching at the red line and I believe him. He was a little bit nuts. One of those guys that doesn't really give a shit. He also ran a 14.1 and a 14.2. I went back the next week with the exact same mods as him and ran a best 14.472 at 92.96 miles an hour with a 60 foot of 1.986. I was only launching at 4000. So it can be done, it's just a matter of how badly you want to beat your car. Keep in mind these times were done with a completely stock exhaust.

Out of a T25? Hard to believe.

Remember that the Boxster is a mid-engine RWD car and will therefore have more traction than a FWD car.

yes believe 102 103 traps. You don't think those guys ran high 13's at 85mph do you. And yes the boxter is a mid engined rwd car but our cars have alot more torque and about 20 to 30 more hp, atleast mine does. I have g-teched my car several times in the past at around 223 to 230 at the wheels. 19psi 16x7 konig villains and 2.5 test-pipe is what helped. Later dude! Good looking car by the way!!

Thanks for the compliment.

Of course they didn't run 13s @ 85mph. I ran 14.85 @ 95.70mph with a 2.444 60' time back in January. If I would have pulled a 2.0 60' time my time would have been around 14.2-14.3. That tells my I need enough power to pull 97-99mph traps to get me into the 13s. I wouldn't necesserily need 101-102mph traps. I've just never heard/read of those kind of traps out of a T25. That looks more like 14B/small 16G territory. Maybe T28. I haven't seen those kind of traps myself out of a T25 so I can't say but, if its true, thats very impressive.

Yeah! those numbers came off the top of my head. It's been so long ago. Techt in the above posts claims he's seen 105 traps. So damn if I know. I myself thought the t-25 and fwd is only good for high 13's and around the century mark in trap speeds. Later dude!!

Was the 19psi you were pushing on the stock T-25 with an upgraded fuel pump? I thought you can only boost about 16psi on the stock t-25 before they become hair dryers. Also I thought that boosting that much would blow up your engine.

It would be pretty hard to blow up your engine with a T25.

running more than 16psi does create a little more air .. if it is cold enough out, you have a good enough I/C and you were running higher octane gasoline, then you could probably get some more performance out of it.

I ran a 14.0 on the T25 (AWD) on pump gas with a cat. So, if you have someone who can drive the crap out of a FWD, they could hit 13s no problem.. especially if they ran an open exhaust, had a better than stock I/C, ran race gas, etc.

I've been reading a lot of the threads in this forum and the majority of people say that you shouldn't boost more than 15-16 psi because you will blow up your engine. Is this true or not?

Dunno how it would compare, but I ran a 14.1 at 99.9mph with just a K&N and boost controller. Even silencer, honeycomb and everything still in there. This was at 16 psi racegas, and a 2.2 60ft.

Your car is a 1G. I assume your using a 14B not a T25. A 1G using a 14B can run 12s. These 2 turbos are not really comparable.

Not true. I run 15-16psi but get 18-20psi spikes and my engine is still in one piece. But beyond 16psi the consensus is that the T25 is too inefficient and just blowing hot air.

I also get 18-20 psi spikes when I did the free mod on the BCS. So basically it's useless to boost over 16 psi because you are not really making power over 16 psi on the t-25 turbo right? Just for curiosity purposes, what if I set my MBC to 20 psi with no spikes (not that I would do that to get my question answered), will that blow up my engine? I just want to know how strong the 4g63 is.
