i just got a 14b wiht no shaft play in it at all for 125 wiht the j pipe. i was wondering what kind of oil lines and coolent lines i need to get to set this up if the 2nd gen lines work where can i get new ones? and is this a good price for a 14 b
thats not a terrible price, although, i have seen them go cheaper than that. as far as what lines you need, just get a SS oil feed line and run it from your oil filter housing and a 1g oil drain line(you may be able to make the 2g drain line work, but im not sure... ive always just used a 1g drain line when i install a 14b on a 2g). you dont need to hook up the coolant lines as they arent really needed. you will want to either get a turbo timer or let your car idle for 30 sec to a min after you park if you dont hook up the coolant lines, but again, its not a big deal.rustyjusty232 said:i just got a 14b wiht no shaft play in it at all for 125 wiht the j pipe. i was wondering what kind of oil lines and coolent lines i need to get to set this up if the 2nd gen lines work where can i get new ones? and is this a good price for a 14 b
this has been discussed several times before... the general consensus is that as long as you have a turbo timer or let your car idle, as i stated above, you do not need to run the coolant lines.gma0408 said:I would also reccommend using the cooling lines. The turbo is not made for oil only. It will probably work, but for how long?

And your 2g oil return line WILL work. You just have to make the holes closer together on the turbo end so they bolt into the turbo.
You don't need the water lines, but it's up to you. Many run without them fine, just turbo time it.
You're going to need a J pipe. Not a stock 1g J pipe, but one that places the compressor outlet where it would be with a downflow compressor housing. As stated above the coolant lines are really not needed but you will need to be sure to let the car idle down before shutting it off. I've been running my EvoIII 16g as a dry CHRA for quite some time now without any issues whatsoever. I would also suggest picking up a stainless feed line and you can use either 1g return line (drop in affair) or modify your 2g line slightly.rustyjusty232 said:what do i have to get for piping for the turbo?
gma0408 said:the 2g return line will not work. You could always just cut it in half and put a hose in the middle...but thats should just be a temporary solution.

you beat me to it apex...guess i should have read lolApexImprt2nR said:Ok first off, get a SS oil feed line. If you want to keep the coolant lines, just bend your stock 2g lines to fit. I did it and many others and it works fine.

discussed above... you dont need to get an install kit or a j pipe.. the stock 'j pipe' from the 14b will be fine...rustyjusty232 said:what do i have to get for piping for the turbo?
i have done this on several 2g 14b installs and it works absolutely fine. i think a section of 2in piping from the auto parts store is about $5... why would you want to spend WAAAAY more than that on a j pipe that you dont need?green_bread said:you can also use your stock 2g LICP to hook up the turbo to the intercooler, however, you will need to get a section of 2in pipe and cut the stock pipe so that you can extend it a little bit. thats basically all that needs to be done.
