I hear different answers from everyone. Who has experience here with these turbos? I want something with out a lot of lag because I love tooling around the streets. However I do want some awesome horsepower numbers. Realistically how much faster can I go assuming all other mods are the same with a Big 16G and how much extra lag is there? Is it worth it over a ported regular 16G?
Thanks all
desperatly seeking answers so I can start to go fast - hopefully faster than my twin turbo 3000GT went!

let's not bring the mutt into this because it costs quite a bit more than the big16. :)

I was debating between the mutt1 or big16 w/ webcams and i love the big16...not that i've ever had the mutt but the big16 has as much lag as i'd want for the street. I bought the big16 ported with the EVO manifold and ported O2. Can't remember exactly but 19psi comes on by 3700 or so.

good luck man! Oh, webcams are the best! crazy idle but it won't stall.

Where did you get the EVO manifold? Why didn't you get an evo 02 housing also? How much did you pick up the mani for?

I'm surprised no one has asked to see what mods you have for your car. Well, what mods do you have?

My big16g spools 20psi around 3500rpm (5th gear from 2k rpm). It is ported and clipped also. Maybe my intake pipe and turboback aid in the spool time there. I don't find it much more laggy than the t-25 IMO. Definateley streetable and bearable. I guess it would really depend on what other mods you have.

To answer your question- barely. Rock solid 1.4 bar till 6k then drops to 1.34 until 7k. Not much of a drop, about 0.9psi

I dont own the greddy IC for turbo honduhs that you see on the covers of TURBO and SCC---the evolution one or whatever. I believe there is a difference, although I may be totally wrong.

The "only intended for use above 15psi" is the "V-Spec" core. This is NOT the core that is used on DSM's.

I don't know why people on here continuously quote that. Even ProjectGSX has "vspec" on his VFAQ for the installation..

For the record, the "Big Greddy" is not the Vspec. It is perfectly fine over 15psi.
