18g is an awesome turbo. I've done a lot of research on it. Probably the perfect turbo for running 11's in a daily drive. That 20g pesky lag reeeeeeeally sucks around town. i think that might be the way im going to go too if i can save enough money

Update!

Well I have the FP18g installed and made only 2 trips to the track so far.The car is not my daily driver so I haven't had alot of time to get a good tune so far.I get full boost (20psi) by 3600k and it pulls vary well on the top end.
I just installed a Msd dis-2 in my car the first time to the track. What we didn't realize that we knocked my AFC offline when splicing the rpm wire.DOH! So first time out with no afc, 550's, plenty rich, and crap for timing advance I managed a 12.55 at 110.Not bad but was pissed about the tune of the car.
Next time out with AFC in working order, on the way to the track my Dis-2 freaks out and throws a CE light and the car stalls.Wtf?? So with the dis-2 in bypass mode I ran my personal best 12.22 at 111.67 with 23psi.
My car was knocking pretty bad in 3rd and 4th,thats why my mph is tweaking. I was running way to lean. I'm used to the 14b tune where I used to take like -30 away on the afc. Now it's at -12 at 23psi with no knock and 28* of advance.
I would say that this turbo moves a good amount of air.I had to give back almost 17% more fuel to make up for it. Next time out I will get some mph back and hopefully run some 11's.
Thanks everyone for the help!

green92gsx I have a similar setup as you running 20psi on my 18g yet i could only manage a 13.22@103 with a strong 30mph headwind. I think i'm running really rich tho, my afc settings are from about 0 at 3k to +7 at 7k rpm...no logger. only hitting 1800Hz
For all you 18g guys what are your afc settings?

(this is green92gsx)

I was seeing a max 2200hz with a 2g mass.
I'm going to see how far the td05 housing will take me. I have a modifiyed tdo6 housing with a 3'in inlet(same as greddy 18g) that will go on at the end of the season.

I'm green92's brother...when we first took the car out at 18psi it hit just over 2000hz. I was like damn...this turbo must really be moving some air or you have a boost leak. We pressure tested the car not to long before the 18g was put on and there were a few small leaks(injector seals) but nothing major. Perhaps we should do another pressure test. His 2g mas is completely stock though...all honeycombs in and the screw has never been touched.

On my car w/ a 1g blaha style hacked mas and a small 16g i pull a little over 1800 hz @ 24psi....just for a comparison.

are you nuts? i have a friend who runs a td06-20g in his gvr4 who gets 23 psi by 3900rpm. that turbo spools almost as fast as a 16g. ive driven the thing, it's amazing. the problem with the 18g is that pos td05 compressor housing. that thing needs to run 22 psi just to be somewhat efficient. as far as im concerned, a 20g or an FP green:D are the best streetable, standard bushing, 11 sec turbos around.

I hit 18psi of boost by 3300rpm with my 18g but a bigger compressor housing would be nice.

My friend hit 12.6 up here at 5800ft with his 18g at 22psi in full street trim.

My 18G is in a TD06 housing, so does that make mine more effiecent than yours?
Yes, talking to a respectable turbo vender it's raises efficiency
about 7% across the map.
I'm getting 18psi by 3500k and 25psi at 4000K,with the boost leaks fixed. Now my wastgate actuator is not working properly and not giving me soild boost control.
