I just put a 20g compressor housing and compressor fin on my big 16g. I am getting almost no boost, 3psi MAX, i have no idea what the problem could be.

I have the following mods.
FMIC, Blow Thru, 650cc injectors, header, O2 housing(with open dump wastegate), i also do have a Moates tuned chip for my injectors and things to that nature.

Does anyone have any advice? It also has an adjustable wastegate, but its tightened to the point where i should get nothing but boost and shouldnt open.

Please help me with any ideas.

Did you do this mod or did a previous owner sell it to you? There may have been some kind of mistake in the building process. Has the turbo gone through any period of oil or coolant deprivation? When it hits boost, is it feeling like its spooling fine, or can you not hear it spool? Does it seem like it's "laggier"? Can you hear your bov?

That will be your turbo very shortly for doing a wheel replacement in your garage. Good job on not getting it professionally balanced.

it came balanced by the way.

and i did it on a 16g that i had used for 300 miles with no problems. I started it up then went for a ride, and no boost, you can hear it spool easily, no its not rubbing the housing, but it spools 3psi maybe.

Boost leak check and report.

Well like I asked, is your bov making noise and is "peak" boost coming later?
You for sure replaced the housing right? 20g wheels don't fit in a 16g compressor housing... no offense, just making sure.... Is everything on the turbo in good shape, did you replace all gaskets? Are they genuine parts and not ebay parts. Have you taken it apart to inspect? Again I mean no offense, but it sounds like a shotty build if it only lasted 300 miles.

it was a brand new 16g, and i bought a 20g housing AND wheel, so its not a size issue, the E or C ring is sealed, and pushed boost perfectly until i did the housing change and eprom today, i know for a fact its in great condition no play at all, and it is quality parts. and the BOV i havent really noticed

checked, no leaks

and even if it was leaking, it would push more psi than 3, especially when i have my boost controller cranked
You need to follow rule #7, Check the link in my Sig.

When did you do a boost leak check last?

You would think so. My t25 is toast because when the coolant return line tore, it was "coolant deprived" and long story short, it's no good any more. I cranked the MBC as tight as it would go (which was almost 30 psi on my friends 16g) boost never hit higher than 5.5 pounds and I couldn't hear it spooling. Can you give any more details like anything that may have happened prior to this?

That seems like the best thing for now. Be sure to get back to us, I'm really curious to see what it is now. It could be the wastegate though, best of luck.

The only thing is, that I dont hear the wastegate open, nd i should since i have open wastegate dump, and if it was the wasegate it would not be pushing boost because it was stuck open, not ecause its closed, which is why Im stumped.

Oh shit I didn't see you weren't internally gated. Damn dude, definitley get back to us then.
