ok im sorry let me rephrase what im asking....

how do i get 300hp+ with the safest, most dependable way??
i got 48k on my motor and it was drivin extremely hard before i bought it. im training to be a mechanic so ill do all the labor, but im not looking forward to crankwalk and all the other little problems that dsms have when your hitting 300+. so what is the most dependable way of having 300hp? i am a easy driver too.i take care of her, she takes care of me....

Easiest way to get depenble hp? Use the Search and Read

Fast, Reliable, Cheap - Pick Two

Remove balance shafts, prothane MM's. That will keep her stable where she sits.

Otherwise, you can make 300 easy with an evo3 16g. Just make sure you're running enough fuel for it (the stock mas should be sufficent for air flow). I'd say around 650's to be safe, give her a good tune with an safc or dsmlink (link preffered for the most accurate tune). Add your other goodies like intake/exhaust, maybe a front mount IC if you plan to go to a bigger turbo in the future and you'll be all set.

Check out some of the other dsm sites dude, there's upgrade paths that are pretty tried and true ways of getting good power VERY reliably.

OH, don't forget your idiot gauges. Boost gauge being most important when you get an MBC.

Otherwise, make sure ALLLLLLL the maintenience is done on her. Timing belt, water pump, oil changes, fluid flushes (don't forget about diff's and TC if you've got it), plugs and wires. Tires too.

Good luck man.

I got just a hair under 310AWDHP on an evo3 16g, 19psi, 272 cams, SAFC, 650's, 255, 3" turbo back, external WG, and FMIC.

Good for 12's as well. Looking at my AF and knock counts (none) seems to be pretty safe to me.

dyno sheet

300hp, - get an STI, or an MR, or plan on some investments, check your motor, and then get what the above said- pretty straightforward- its all in the tune- remember that!- dsmlink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

crank walk has nothing to do with how much power the motor was producing. I say buy a 14b and port the hell out of it, but a walbro 190 and rewire it. Buy a safc or tmo chip if your ecu is eprom, and a set of 550's. Look into an adaptor for a 1g bov in a 2g uicp. Hollow out the cat, and you should be close with the boost turned up on the 14b. Exhaust is helpfull, but not 100 percent needed.

AHHHHH. . . Don't hollow the cat. If anything just get a nice flowing exhaust that elims the cat or just get a highflow. Gutting a cat will cause really weird (and not so good) flow.

Are you wanting 300whp? Or crank? Cuz 300 crank is pretty darn easy in these cars.

16G
190lph pump
550cc injectors
Safc
logger
upper intercooler pipe with a better bov (1G will work find)
full exhaust with port work to the manifold, O2 and turbo
mbc
ACT clutch

Welcome to 300hp.

You didn't mention if you were looking for crank hp or wheel hp but we'll assume wheel.

thats exactly was i was thinking lol.. i was reading crankwalk is most common between like 60-90k? please, correct me if im wrong? if its been driven hard, like seminoles said, compression test to make sure everything is ok on the inside.. do all maintenance, change all filters, fluids, plugs, wires, stuff like that.. then start modding..

Walbro 255 w/rewire $ 125

DSMLink w/ eprom $650 ....more if you need a laptop, nowadays everyone has one already so I wont put a price on this but they can be had for under $200

720cc/min injectors or bigger w/ the link $ 300

AFPR $225

20G or 50 trim $500-1200 (pending size and new or used)

Full exhaust $ 300-1000 ( again brand, size etc. )

ARP Head studs $100

MLS Headgasket $100

MBC $10-150 or more again depeding on brand

Driving Skills and tuning- Priceless

* these are rough estimates. With a good tune you should be able to achieve well over 300 hp on this setup.

my setup is FP Big T28, 550's, safc, full exhaust, tubualr 02, dejon super sidemount, junk cat, 18psi and i was at 290/297. Good Luck!
