if you have access to a voltage meter or a DMM, check the voltage from there sensor. Chances are it's shot.

 

Rich all the time is probably a dead O2 sensor That's all the A/F gauge is good for, to tell you when the sensor is dead so you actually got some good use out of it

Maybe sometimes but mine sure didn't

 

I was cruizing around last night and just happened to notice my a/f blinky meter wasn't moving around at all? did a lil searching and came upon the o2 sensor deal.. could I have a faulty one, could my wiring be loose/messed up, or is my car indeed running full rich all th time even at idle? my clutch has been slipping quite a bit also so could that have anything to do with it?

if your gauge is reading rich at idle, is your idle a little jumpy or low?

 

a/f guage

chances are you have a lose connection at the o2 wire that gives the signal to the guage. If you notice when you install the guage if you just give it power and ground it will come on but it will site at full rich then when you connect the o2 signal and start the car it will start jumping around. so check the most simple thing first like the connection to your o2 signal before you start looking at a bad o2 sensor

 

must have just been a fluke, works fine now, just takes awhile as the car has to warm up a bit for it to start working...i dunno?

 

The sensor does need to warm before it starts giving a reading. It sounded like it was more of a problem than that not just the initial 30 seconds it takes to start registering.

 

It was/is probably a loose connection to the O2 sensor signal like someone proposed above.

Bad O2s won't throw a CE from what I have ever read.

yeah, after a few months...

i disconnected mine once and the computer didnt throw a code for two days...

You car will not bogg out and die after it's warmed up. When you have a bad O2 your ECU goes into open loop form and you'll run pretty rich, your gas mileage will get worse and a lot of black sooth will accumulate in the lower part of your rear bumper.
