Whenever I pop into first gear I get this annoying sound, not really grinding noise, but it sounds kinda like when you put it in reverse and it grinds... Its really getting on my nerves, but it only happens if I put it in gear too fast... If I do it slowly it won't make any noise... Any clues?

My car sat for a year, and when I started driving it again I had the same thing happen. I changed the tranny fluids and I havent noticed a grind since that wasnt my own fault.

I used 2 quarts of heavy shockproof gear oil and 1 quart of syncroshift II I think thats how it goes. Read lots of ppl run those togeather definatly worked for me.

I agree with g9s5r, change the fluid and see if that helps

I had the same problem, and as as stated above change your fluid! It fixed my noise.

Could be a bad intermediate shaft end bearing on the bellhousing side of the trans. This will make 1st gear push away from the input shaft and make a noise like you describe.
