Kevin Tetz's Paintucation is pushed pretty hard from eastwood.

Link to them here

I didn't see many used copies on eBay, if it was shitty I would expect a bunch of them to be dumped on there.

There are several DVD's to the library but I didn't want to drop hundreds only to find out they aren't worth it. So I threw $35 shipped at Body Panel Replacement (152 minutes) to get me started, if it seems educational I'll by more. I skipped over the Metal Prep and Rust Repair (55 minutes) because is was made in 2000 and he has a mullet.

I'll watch it when I it gets here and post my opinions here.

Has anyone used these before?
If so what volumes?

Your supposed to support your local economy!, cmon now the mullet was born and raised in the burgh.:D Most of those types of videos are decent at the very least, information cant hurt when it comes to body work and paint no matter how good or bad, as long as you get the basic idea. You will find out though that painting GOOD is an art, and nothing short of picking up a gun full of paint and pulling the trigger will actually show how good or bad you will be at it.

I have been told that a monkey can spray the paint and have a good result. The skill comes in the prep work, and that that is where 95% of a good paint job.
I wouldnt go that far. Maybe back in the old days of lacquer, but not with this newer base/clear stuff, you have to know how to paint on top of the prep work and it doesnt hurt to be a chemist either!;)

Finished watching the Body Panel Replacement, which was nice because it showed me that there really isn't any magic behind it. If you have good metal working skills (I do), and keep your lines you're in good shape. Also weld though primer is a must. A hammer and dolly is a necessity if fitting a panel as is a pneumatic punch.

Of course much of this is fantasy because as DSM owners I don't think we have replacement body panels available to us.

I'd buy another dvd from him. There were little tips and tricks along the way it is a nice alternative as a mere $33 saves me from tons of time on youtube where I don't know the validity of the source.

Edit: also had to download VLC player to play the 2nd side of the DVD, Toshiba player wouldn't work.
