Ok, I first have to start off by saying that I used the searc on the forum and nothing came up about these. Now, I was wondering if I should go with these, Coil-over system w/ KYB AGX's, or lowering springs and the AGX's. By the way, is there any other car that has the suspension like a 1g? As in the same type of struts or whatever...

Apexi and JIC coilovers

Apexi sells the world sport coilovers for the 1g. I think rollhard carries them. They are "true coilovers" threaded body struts. They use a shortened strut which allows for more suspension travel when in the weeds, however they are non-adjustable, and I don't know what spring rates they use. Surely, they are stiffer than stock, but they are a street coilover.

JIC Magic is offering coilovers for the 1g as well. Again these are ture coilovers, but are 15 way adjustable. JIC is one of the most popular coilover systems in Japan and will be my next suspension set up. Problem is they run around $1600. http://www.modacar.com, http://www.digitalracer.com. Both places carry the JIC's.

The JICs include upper camber plates, while the Apexi do not. I currently use Ground Control coilovers 425# front, 375# rear, with the AGX's. Figure this set up costs $700-800, its not much more to get the Apexi. It just depends if you are interested in a nice street ride, or all out performance.

Jspec DSM is right. But I wen't with RRE's hybrid coil overs (wich is a "true coilover") with GC camber plates and GC coil overs in the rear w/ KYB's. Be prepared to spend some big buckaroos. :D

RRE has them as well. Here is what Mike Welch had to say:

The JIC stuff is nice. Very short, you can slam the car and still not run
out of suspension travel. You will bottom the tire up into the fender well
long before you bottom the shocks. They are fairly stiff. Best for hard core
open trackers or guys with a second car. Still, they are a hundred times
better than a slammed car running on the bump stops.

Lots of pics here

They run $1800 for a set of the top of the line FLT-A2. That includes the
adjustable length aluminum bodies, the springs and the bearing plates
(camber plates on the 1G fronts) The shocks are 15 way adjustable (one knob
adjusts both compression and rebound). They are available for both 1G and
2G.

Tanabe also now has the 2G Sustech Pro adjustable coil overs available.
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/parts/shocks/sustech-2gfront.jpg They are
a little cheaper at $1225 for the set. They do not include bearing plates.
They do have a nice helper spring set up. We have not installed these yet,
it will be a couple weeks before we have an impression of them. They are
definitely not as hard core as the JICs. Even though the shocks are built by
KYB, they dont have the same "too long" body length of the AGXs.
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/parts/shocks/sustech-2glength.jpg but
they are a little longer than stock.

Note in the pic that the KYB GR-2s are stock length but the KYB AGXs are way
too long, idgets.

wow, long post Nick, but thanks, that really helped me. I think I might just go for some koni's and some gc's, but if I can come up with that much money by the end of my build up, I'll go with the JIC's. thanks guys for all of the info!!
