Can anybody provide me with specific info on a 14B from a '91 talon Tsi? Where do I find the A/R on the housing? I'm trying to find out how well matched my ported 14B turbo will be for my '86 Fiero. It's going into a built 3.2 litre V6(stroked and poked 2.8) with 8.7-1 compression. Most other fiero kits use a T-25 or a Garrett T-3. I'm under the impression that the 14B is smaller than the T-3 but bigger than the T-25. Is this accurate? I've done my homework as far as fuel management, pluming, boost control, but there's a few things I have left to work out. I was drawn into the turbo idea because of a couple friends and their Galant VR-4's. Any help would be appreciated.

I'll try.

Regarding the A/R on a 14B - you won't find it. Mitsubishi gives us the size of it's housing in a x CM^2 rating, i.e. 6,7,8 or 10cm^2 who have a day or so to wait for their turbo to spool.

The only indication I know of (and here I get a little confused/don't know) is the turbine wheel - TD05, but I don't think that tells you anything about the housing's A/R. Somebody please correct me if I"m wrong.....

a 14B has a 6cm^2 exhaust housing. If the numbers at http://www.dsm-performance.com (I think - or it's forcedperformance.net) are right, that roughly equates to a .41 A/R. 7 is about.49, and 8 was .57, I think.

Depending on which T-3 (there are lotsa flavors of garret wheels - you know that right?), the 14b could be larger or smaller, but you're probably right - it's in between the two.

Make sure it'll fit your manifold.

(Edit = corrected A/R #'s)
