 So, I have had this problem for quite some time, but it is driving me nuts.. My belt squeaks really bad. And I have a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UDybfGa2JY / What I want to know is, the squeak is coming from the belt near the coolant reservoir, where do I adjust the tension on it? And sorry for the darkness in the video, it looked better before I uploaded it? Anyways, when I stop at like lights or stop signs sometimes, it gets A LOT louder than this and is very annoying. If I give it gas it takes the loud squeak away but still makes a noise.

Does this post need more description, or is it just a bad question?

OK, new question: Is there a VFAQ on how to replace the belt (95 talon) next to the coolant reservoir? Or at least detailed instructions? Thanks!

I started typing up and answer and then realized you had an ESI. You might have better luck in the N/T forum, or just buy a Hayne's/Chilton manual.

My car did it too.. if it tends to do it under load, like for instance, when your headlights are on, heat is on,.. check the temsion on the alternator belt..the bolts tend to loosen up for some reason..if its got too much slack, tighten it.. hope it helps..

Oh yeah, it has nothing to do with lights or anything, it happens in the daytime to.. I don't think I have a water leak?? But um, I am not sure.

I tried to use the belt dressing stuff, and it went away for about 10-15 minutes, that is all.

I know this is crazy sounding, but I was talking to one of my navy buddies and he mentioned a sqeaky belt on a ship...they use soap to make the noise go away. Take a bar of soap and hold it on the belt while it is turning. It sounds crazy but it really works lol
