What is the best FMIC kit for 2G Eclipse/Talon. I have read through so many threads I am not all that conserned with keeping the Fog lamps, but it would be nice. I don’t ever plan on running any larger than a Green/50 Trim/GT30. I don’t mind alittle hacking as long as its nothing extreme. Here is my results...

1. Hahn Racecraft – They make one for the GSX/GS-T??? I see the price $899 but no pic???

2. Greddy Large – All have seen this one, small lower IC pipe, and a lot of piping!!!

3. ADFX – Haven't seen the piping kit yet http://www.dsmtuners.com/parts/product_info.php?name=2G FMIC Kit&products_id=765

4. Extremeintercoolers.com – tube and fin over bar and plate...??? Cheap Core???

5. Slowboyracing.com 24x12x3.5 Looks Really nice

Heard some BS with this company… But the pic of the kit looks good.

6. Buscher Racing 24x11x3.5 core size

7. AGPturbo – 28x10.5x3.5 Spearco!! Short Route Good customer service, I bought a few turbos from them. I really like this one.

I really don’t want to go over $1000 on a FMIC… I want one that looks good(Fills the 99 Front-end) Sorry if this thread has been brought up a million times… maybe we can get some good info in here on this

Leaning towards the AGP setup b/c of the Spearco core… piping looks good, and short route.

The AGP looks like a really good kit, short route pipeing, chooseable BOV flange, Blow Thou option, and a pretty big core...

Anyone have pictures of this on a 2G?

This is the Slowboy kit, it is a great, efficient intercooler. It was 919.00 I think with the HKS SSQ flange. The piping is really simple instead of the Greddy 24R which I had before. Stainless steel high quality piping and great welds. I am very very happy with everything that I have got from Slowboy. I bought alot of new things and they had them to me in four days.

I can also take a pic of the piping from throttle body to core if you want. It also comes with nice couplers and clamps.

If money is a concern, you could make your own fmic. I did this with a spearco core and 2.5" piping from turbo to TB for about $550. I couldnt be happier with the results.

I believe the buschur kit is a spearco as well. At least it is a very similar design to the spearco.

Also check out http://www.dvdtfab.com/. They make some very nice fmic kits. Im not a fan of the endtanks of some of the intercoolers previously mentioned.

more and more i think about it i realize that the AGP is the shiznit, if you are wanting short route you got it, running differnet bov ok, running MAFT you can also use that, plus its all the pipeing aposed to just lowers, AGP BABY

I dont know where you been but all kits have all piping and AGP, SBR, DEJON etc are all short route with a spearco core...it comes down to minor size differences and looks. Dejon has lots of options on the piping and bov as well, not sure about SBR.

We can do any BOV flange you wish.

SS piping is 304 SS and is from the bottom of a down fire turbo all the way to the T body.

We can do Red, Black, or Blue silicone.

We can also do the GM maf in the upper IC pipe with the same choices in silicone color.

I've had both the greddy large and the slowboy kit...The Greddy large was actually really efficient for my EVOIII, but yes the piping is a lilttle longer. The slowboy took foerever to get, but all the welding on it is really nice along with the short piping and t-clamps. My overflow bottle needs to be relocated though cause it sits on the pipe now.

well, now-a-days, there really is no reason to have to spend upwards of $1000 for an intercooler....Greddy kit's are overrated, and when you are spending over $850 for a FMIC, it better have short-route pipes going from the T-body to Core...Insane..

There are kits that are worth spending $1K+ for, for instance I am very impressed by the works of DV/DT Fab...But, I would not recommend it unless you are running some hardcore setup and really need the top-of-the line kit to cool the massive compressed air

I like Extreme Intercooler's kits because they seem to have a successful design and a competitive price, plus I like how the end take's are placed behind the core so the piping goes straight to the engine bay instead of making the 90* turn first...

I also really like SBR's kits, and if you look up this one guy (tsigoespssst on dsmtuners) he has a really impressive shot of this kit on his hacked front bumper of his blue gst...The nicer kit from them measures like 24"/12"/3.5" or somewhere around there, which is enormous, but perfect for any 50trim or larger turbo you will be running...

Im not sure if AGP is still having their sale on the FMIC kits, but if so I would jump on that deal right away...Definitely one of my favorite kits, and it's marked down a couple hundred bucks from the standard $1000 price

You may want to look up Speed Design (makers of the 4-spider center diff ) before you spend money, they do some excellent 2G FMIC setups. Mark and Jeff use jigs for all their welding, and make some of the best pipes I've seen with nice thick flanges (where appropriate) and very clean welds.

Why spend 1,000 when you can have the same thing for 500. Piping is what really gets me. Some places want like 300 bucks for a intercooler piping kit. You find an exhaust shop that has a mandrel bender and it is about 100 bucks. A good front mount intercooler that will hold up to 45psi of boost will run you 250-300. You are wasting money on those 1,000 dollar kits. I guess some people want to tell others how much that they put into there car.
