Alright, right now I have a full out system, 2 12" Diamond D3's, 1800 watt power akoustik amp, infinity speakers (aftermarket), and a Pioneer DEH-4900ib head unit.

I am bored with the head unit and I want a pop-out DVD player, I know you can't watch it without the E-Brake on but there are ways around that, anyways I was looking to spend around 4-6 hundred on this.

Right now I am looking at either Kenwood or Jensen.

I know Kenwood is good, but what about Jensen, I don't know much about them.

I have found these on crutchfield, but I search google for the cheapest prices (its what i did for my underglow and i got it for half the price!)

So whats the best for my money?

Well, actually my cousin has the Dual touch screen from Wal-Mart. Yeah I know what your thinking, junk, but it's pretty awesome. Has navigation, pop out screen and it was like $330. Also he has had it for several months, has it in his S-10 with 4 15inch American bass subs and it doesn't skip. My .002

Personaly, if you have a double din opening, go double din.

The motors on the flip outs wear out, you get alot of other people in the car messing with them, and they just take a lot of abuse.

Pioneer has a new unit out that doesn't play dvd's but does play video off of a video ipod, has navigation, blue tooth, and everything else you could want from an in dash for about 850$ retail. its called the f700bt I think (just got them in at work the other day).

Look on eBay. I don't care what people say you can get a steal of a deal on there. You just have to be cautious of who you are buying from. When I get extra money sometime I plan on picking up one of these Pioneer AVIC D3 double dins. They fit perfectly in a 2G and I hear are fantastic units.

Pioneer Avic D3

Hope this helps.

I went ahead and bought a cheap Valor 702W. If I had another choice I would have chosen something of better quality. This one is pretty picky with the media you put into it.

Look at my pictures to see what it looks like in the 1g.

I agree with the previous posts about going double-din.

I've had a JVC (similar to this, I'm not sure of the model number) in my Xterra for a couple of years now. Mine's not a touch-screen, but the motorized face is pretty cool, and the feature I like best is the SD card slot. I use it for playing mp3s, and I'm always swapping the cards out with my mp3 player.

Yeah I wish that mine had that feature. But instead I just burned a Media DVD with about 5,000 songs on it I believe. Needless to say I never change CD's.
The screen makes navigating it much cooler too.

How is yours as far as the media you use goes?

I bought one from a member on here a little while ago. Its a soundstream brand, never heard of it before but did some internet searching and it has gotten some pretty good reviews.

Its touch screen so navigating it is very easy. Has a great picture and sound is pretty good. Im happy with the purchase.

I would definatle stay away from dual and jenson as they are both pretty much junk. Ive known a few people who have had them and they have stopped working within 6 months of buying them.

I work at best buy in the car/audio section... trust me stay away from dual and jensen.. you have a double din . do a full indash unit and stay away from flip outs they take a beating the only flip out i would do is the pioneer AVH-P5000 but its about 600 and change.. I would do the P4000 its a in dash dvd player with out all the extra features. No navi no bluetooth none of that and you can probally get it for about 450 its a really good unit if you are only looking for basics

Well, I mainly bought it because I needed something to play kid movies on for long trips. Never had a problem with those. Then both the headrest screens I bought for it went out (stupid XO Vision, never buy that crap). So now I just pretty much just use the SD card slot and the radio. Eventually I'll replace the headrest screens with more quality hardware.
