The dealer does still have the side moldings. I looked into it about a year ago and I believe it was close to $100 per side for the molding.
I got mine for free from the junkyard because I bought the other stuff at the same time (minus the front bumper, that came later). There is no way i'd pay $200 for those, but I do love them on there. They give it more of a raked looking stance.
To sum it up, here's the differences in '95-'96 and '97-'98 Talon bodies...
Front bumpers are different
Rear bumpers are different
Spoilers are different
'97-'98 Had the sidemoldings (I call them door bumpers

), '95-'96 had none
'95-'96 Had the sideskirts, '97-'98 had none.
My car has the stock '96 sideskirts + the '97 conversion. I think it looks best this way, because the sideskirts make the car look a little lower, and the bottom edge matches up with the front bumper better. If I had bought a '97 or '98, I would've put on '95-'96 sideskirts anyway.
I bought my car with the intention of doing the conversion, because I didn't really like the '95-'96 body, but '97-'98's were much more expensive at the time, and they aren't as common.
The funny thing is that my car was made in July of '96, so you can only assume it was probably at least the next month before it was sold, and the '97s were already coming out, or just about to, and all of the conversion parts on my car are from '97s.
So you could almost call my car a '97 Talon, minus a few electrical differences.

I like that.
Anyway, good luck in your quest!
