What he said, and port the waste gate hole.

^ Only works when mounting the external gate off the manifold. He want's o2 mounted, so he'll have to remove the flapper.

Care to explain?
Sure man ! :)

See 16g are turbo who like to creep, mine is ported and I can't boost under 15psi when I got WOT pass 5K in revolution. The fix would be to port the waste gate hole but when you this you loose spool ... They also crack easily around the waste gate hole so porting the hole will only make it easier to crack. In other word it will cost you time and money for a poor setup. Yes it would look awesome but there are better setup for less money.

Buy a manifold with a flange for a waste gate and weld shut the hole for the stock gate in the turbo. Best of both world ! ;)

How the hell does wastegate hole size have anything to do with making the turbo laggier?

Right....and if it cracks when the external gate is placed on the o2 housing, you'll still have the ability to seal off the crack and control boost....but if it cracks with the wastegate flapper welded shut, any airflow seeping through the crack and around the flapper will result in a pre-turbine leak.
