Well, I had a huge story about my DSM career but somehow the page refreshed on me and I lost it all  :tat: :tat: :tat:

I bought my first DSM when I was 17, crashed it on my 18th bday:

Bought my 2nd DSM a month after I crashed the first one:

Went through 3 motors in the new one, all stupid errors on my part. Finally got a good motor in then put a 50 trim on it. Ran it like that for a month, realized I needed a reliable car at this point in my life and parted out the dizzum. It was a sad day, but it went to another Moderator here Iceman21 (Mike). At least I know it's got a good home now.

A few pics of the DSM over the past couple years:

Then I got a new car. It's a 2001 Harley Davidson edition F-150. I absolutely love this truck! I got the non/sc one because I'm broke and it's what I could afford. I plan on buying a stock lightning supercharger and bolting it on for a little extra power. I miss my DSM, but I just am not financially able to keep it at this point in my life. Maybe someday I'll have another one.

Well there you have it. Maybe I'll re-do my essay that I had written and repost it here, but till then this will have to do.

Comments, questions, concerns, etc. are all welcome.

how fast were you going when you crashed the first one. it looks like it was one hell of an accident.

25 MAYBE 30 miles an hour. It was on an ice covered parking lot. Slid straight into a pole, nothing I could do to stop it.

Yea it was definetly a shitty day. On my 18th birthday too.

Brakes locked up and I couldn't steer either way. Of course, I got sooo lucky and hit the only post in the 2 acre parking lot.

Nice truck, but what errors on your part made you go through 3 motors?

First one the block got cracked in the accident, second the thrust bearing was installed incorrectly by a friend of mine (I made the mistake of not double checking his work  ), and then it was on it's third motor.

Nope. He denied everything and claimed that he didn't help me at all

Oh well, you live and you learn. That rebuild had cost me a total of 300 dollars because all I replaced at the time were the gaskets and bearings. To be honest, I wish I had of just kept the motor with the crack in it. It ran PERFECTLY. I mean, it was smooth and quiet. Even with the crack in it.

Thanks!

The color is just your basic maroon, I've seen countless other 1g's in the same color as mine. It was actually the only color that I didn't want at the time, but since it was such a great deal I couldn't pass it up. It ended up growing on my anyways :p

Wow, that first impact looks nasty. I can't beleive it folded up like that at 25-30.
I couldn't believe it either. I was young and stupid, it could have been prevented but you live and you learn. Oh well, it was a hunk of junk anyways :p

The dizzzum went to a good home, Scott, rest assured. It is going to be awhile before I post in this forum unless I decide to do a progress thread.

I am having a good time trying to find a motor for this puppy.

Glad to hear you have some plans for it! I can't wait to see some progress pictures. Good luck with finding the parts you need.

no blower on the truck wtf?
Nope, they came N/A in 00 and 01. 02 and 03 were s/c. No worries though, the plan is to have it blown by the end of next summer. I am also helping my girlfriends dad turbo his 01 harley truck.

I'm actually interested in seeing pics of the turbo truck once it's done!

Oh, the DSM was very nice! Too bad you got rid of it.

Oh no worries, there will be a full writeup with pics and specs on here once it's done. It looks just like mine on the outside but under hood is a little different  He actually just picked the turbo up a couple days ago, it's a precision GT 4202RL-11, 74mm ballbearing turbo, it should make 1200 hp w 28-30 psi

Yea, I still regret getting rid of the DSM. I loved that car like a child, I had so much time, energy, and money in it. It just wasn't worth the hassle at this point in my life. I'm a junior in college and I need to be able to get around more than I need a race car.

I did manage to get to the track once before I sold it. It ran a best of 12.2 @ 110. I didn't get a chance to launch it though, so it definetly had an 11 second pass in it. Maybe in the future I will pick another one up.
