Hey I'm a proud owner of a 92 TSi AWD. It was running great for the one month I it was running. Well I didnt research mods as well as I should of and installed a 2g mas/ intake and uicp and took it for a test drive around the neighbor hood and leaned it out and lost compression in two cylinders.

Anywho.... I've been debating fixing it or just getting out of the whole 1g/2g scene and buying something newer like a evo or 08 sti.

Its looking like my car will most likely turn ito a money pit because of the cost of a good rebuilt long block plus all the other parts I need, 2g exhaust manifold, ACT 2600 w/ flywheel, full 3" exhaust, cv shaft, gauge's, data logger, sfac, + LABOR just to get it running.

I just got a raise and can afford something better or maybe even something new with a warranty. I guessing it may be better getting somethng new since I think it would be really easy to spend $400 on parts and labor a month fixing up the 92.

Do you think I should sell it and get something newer.

Um If your DSM isn't broke... You are!!!. But It builds a stronger person

Well, in a DSM forum, with people who all love DSM's, I'm guessing most people will say to stick with it. Besides, I would much rather build up a car and do all the work myself than buy something that's already "fast".

Do you want something easy, or something you earned. Either one is respectable. If you don't want the tough way, sell it to me, because I'm ready, lol.

I have other projects that need my attention. This was soppose to be a fast dd that I could mod a little at a time. Now it looks like its gonna set me back at least $4,000 to do it right.

There's a pro built 300awhp 05 Lecacy GT im looking at for $20k

That's half the price of a new evo or sti and I can use the other half to fund my talon as a track car.

Your going to drive your "new" car for a month and then start shopping for parts on top of that 20k investment. If the bug has bitten you there is no way around it. If i had a lambo, I would be shopping for lambo upgrades. It never ends. everrrrrr. unless you die.

Just fix the car you have now...Look the 05 Legacy GT is cool, but just rebuild the engine to factory specs a nice clutch and maybe a few goodies like apr headstuds. If that legacy only has 300 awhp if you are fam. with dsm's thats a very easy number to reach with less money no financing and you can save money every month by having liability insurance. Just because you get a raise dosent meen you have to get knee deep in a car note. At least you got to blow yours i have perfect compression, but i snapped a ear of the bottom of my block where the tranny bolts up. Time for brase welding and a ghetto bracket.

Yeah I know what you mean about modding but I need something to get in and drive everyday no problem.

Seriously a 300awhp 1g awd isnt going to be cheap or practical daily driver and I will most likely end up spending every last penny I make on it.

I'd much rather spend all my hard earned money on a newer car because I could easily spend $15k on it.

I check craigslist and classifides everyday for a great deal on a good engine.

Tell ya what, I'm coming out to the west in a bit. PM me and I'll take that piece off of your hands. Then you'll have some extra money for your new car! :dunno:

If it's black, I'll buy it!
