Search would have been where to start but to give you a short answer, pinch the end of the dipstick tube slightly so it holds the dipstick tighter.

I thought that had to do with the PCV as well? I remembered a post where someone was blowing their dipstick out and someone advised against it because it was the last route in which the Crankcase could ventilate. From me lurking, it's kind of been 50/50. Maybe it's old and easily comes out now because of less tension. I may be wrong though

 

I did some research after posting and I'm more interested in solving the problem than covering it up.

Looks like it could be my PVC valve, I have another valve cover with one, so I'll test that out and see if it's good. I have been wanting to run a catch can, but I've heard both good & bad things about them.

 

I've read that the seals on the stick can be bad, PCV, or excessive blow by because of bad rings.

 

Just go buy a new pvc valve. They are cheap enought. the rubber O ring's on the dipstick get worn out and hard. You can buy a new dipstick for cheap as well. I bought a new dipstick and I have no problem's with it now. I got mine from dsmparts.com.

 

This is exactly what I though. Replace the dipstick if something is worn, but the PCV is most likely the issue. They are under 10$. Make sure they give you the right one. The newb at Autozone said "The non-turbo and turbo one are the same." He was quickly corrected.

 

I just checked the PCV valve on my current valve cover and I can blow through it both ways so it's bad. The one on the replacement valve cover only guys one way so we'll see how this goes. I also decided to crimp the dipstick tube, while doing this I somehow snapped a piece of the dipstick off at the very tip of the tube. I can still see it, but now it's lodged in there and I can't get it out. So I suppose I'll be replacing that with the junkyard run tomorrow.

If there aren't any out there then I guess I'll order one of those fancy dancy STM ones along with a spark plug cover.

 

Before you buy a springloaded dipstick, look into a catch can system. Maybe one that eliminates the pcv all together. RRE sells a decent catch can for $55, ironically the same price as the dipstick

I did however go on a test drive since I repainted the valve cover, installed the new PCV and with the "crimped" dipstick tube. Holds boost just fine, no oil, no smoke, runs great!
