does anyone have any recommendations for boost controllers on a 95gst? I am trying to spend under $200...so I am planning on getting a manual boost controller. I'm just unsure of which company makes a reliable one for eclipses. And what is a SAFE psi lvl to run the stock turbo at? i have seen numerous sites claiming different numbers for the max psi, with 11psi stock. thanks

Although in the wrong forum,

I highly recommend the Turbo XS MBC for a MBC.. an electrical would be the Greddy Profec B but if u want to be under 200 thats not happening..

do a SEARCH for Turbo XS MBC (probaly cant use XS cuz its a 2 letter word) but youll find it talked about..

i am very satisfied w/mine..

edit/

also hear good things about joe p mbc

aight guys dont rag on me ok? im getting a 96 tsi awd as it says in my sig. now its to my understanding that the garret t-25 is no good over 17psi with the stock intercooler or whatever. so like with a boost controller can i like set it so it wont go over 17psi or how do i make sure that it wont.

For a manual boost controller I would suggest the Joe P (www.boostcontoller.com) or the Hallman MBC from Buschur as well as other vendors.

The T-25 runs efficiently till about 16 or 17 pounds but on the stock fuel pump you won't be able to run more than 15 pounds safely.

Moving to Parts Talk since you are asking for boost contoller recommendations.

thats what the boost controller does...limits how much psi. you'll probably see a spike with the t-25....thats common. i was spiking to 20 psi and settling down at 16...i lowered it to 13 psi. still spikes up to 15-16 or so...then settles back down to 12-13.

There is a group buy on this site for the Hallman for $40 shipped. The turbo xs high performance mbc seems like the best mbc, but it costs a lot considering what it is.
SCC did a recent comparison of ebcs on a 20g equipped 2g and the profec B came out on top.

so like once i get a bc and have it set up. i just set it to say 15psi and i dont have to worry about it going over? or should i set it like at 12psi in case it spikes to like 15?

what about the time that i dont have a b/c. do i just have to watch the gauge and if it gets to close to being dangerous then just let up?

I have seen some turbo xs dual stage mbc's on ebay buy it now for $172.99 or something like that. Just thought I'd let you know in case you didn't see them. Justin

These are all good suggestions. you not going to get anything electric for 200 unless you find a Profec B on the trader. I suggest and ball/spring MBC. Especially if you ever plan on running higher than 22psi since the profec B has a hard time holding that much boost.

Later,
