stuttering under boost, weird o2's, lots of symptoms

basicly if the car isn't running 100% chances are you have a boostleak

Every DSM will get a boost leak or 10 in its lifetime.

Build yourself a tester and check

I had the weirdes leak ever with my 1g. Where the intercooler went into the coupler for the uicp it was dented so air would let out, I could get around town fine, boost 10psi thats it and it wouldnt go over 3300 rpms, fixed it and the car ran whatever I wanted to and I could redline it.

 

Use a compressor to test for air leaks, I found a bunch of leaks. Now i'm trying to find out about vacuum.

Use whatever you have - While a compressor does make it 100x easier, by no means do you need one to do a leak test

 

bike pump is just a pita

 

Bike pump will help you find the big ones but a compressor will make it alot easier to hear the smaller ones, just make sure you regulate the air so you dont put too much in.

 

ie have someone watch your gauge so you dont pump in 30 psi when you are stock
