i just got my jdm engine in, and when i started it it ran perfect i was so happy full 19lbs of vaccum, i used a cleaner and a restorer in the engine and had the car running a total of 20 min., the next day i had a huge leak, so i made a leak tester, when i tested, my custom lower pipe was leaking i fixed it, i started it again and it was even worse, so i checked again, now there is a huge leak coming out of the master cylinder power brake booster connection, when i took the master out, i was sure it was that because in my repair manual it has a rubber seal mine didn't, so i went to go remove it from my parts car same thing no rubber seal, i still replaced it and the leak still there, i don't want to silicone the whole thing it is my brakes, i do need them, NOW COULD THIS OF HAPENED BECAUSE OF ME HOOKING UP THE CYCLONE WRONG, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you check all of the vacumn lines that should be running back there?

It is possible that the vacumn hose itself is cut or has failed.

One place to start is the hose with the check valve. Try replacing that and see? (to the master cylinder from the intake manifold... the big one)

Also there are 2 vacumn lines that are important (the others I don't use).

One goes from the stock fuel pressure regulator to the fuel pressure regulator solenoid. Is that hooked up?

The other important one goes from the intake manifold to that same solenoid? Is that line hooked up?

My vacumn lines decayed over time, so I had to replace them because they were split/cracked.

the way i hookes everything up is the exact way the us cars have it, i used us tb and all the vaccum lines from the turbo car i have for parts it still has the engine in it and it was all hooked up, the only different ones where the butterfly valve and the two that come from the thermostat housing but i plumbed them all together, the leak is only in one spot the power booster and master cylinder, i think i am going to start taking the boooster out today, man i need this car done its been months already

AACk!

Did you fix the brake booster leak?

I just got my project car running, and I have the same problem - do an intake pressure test, and the damn brake booster leaks like a stuck pig! I can HEAR the leak under the dash/behind the speedo and tach when I hit boost, and it is pissing me off!

I also had the brake pedal stick in the up position yesterday...

Help!

yeah i ended up fixing, there was nobody who new about it online though, not many searches came up either, i called turbotrix and jeff hill told me that it might be the booster but he had never heard of one failing, so i just took one out of my other car it wasn't that hard it was a b**ch to get under the steering wheel though, but just replace it and you should fine, i think but am not sure but i think i had to replace a seal, if you need more help let me know

Ohh, I see...

I found my problem - I had replaced the intake manifold - to - brake booster line with a red silicone one from RRE (for all around performance).

I threw out the old line, including the brake booster check valve that is inside the old line. So I had to go to our backwoods car parts place in town, buy a $3 chrysler one, and rig it up. I have an OEM one on the way, but for $3 I had to see if it would fix the problem, and it did!

Onto the other boost leaks, hopefully I will be stutter/hesitation free soon...
