ok on my other dsms i don't recall it leaking through the tps during boost tests.. on my current car it leaks throught the tps.. you can hear the hissing coming out.. it doesn't hold the air long because it lets it out...
is this a boost leak? because i am really disappointed in my new setup if this is the best it is going to do.. it better be considered a boost leak :p ..
i'm not sure i will check it out again tomorrow

are you sure its my throttle body seals??? when it leaks it only leaks at the tps.. you can put your hand their and thats the only air that comes out....
and how excatly do you rebuild a tb if i need to

If air is coming out of the tps... it is your tb seals.
I know there's a vfaq to replace shaft seals. I'd search around on the forum as well.

Red1991TSI does them for cheap. He did mine and did a bunch of other work to my tb. You can try pm'ing him.

Terrible sentence structure. Read the rules, particularly rule #7 and in your next post I better see some improvement or you can take a 2 week vacation from the site. It's your TB seals, no 2 ways about it.

Sorry about the post, I'll straighten out the grammer from now on
Ok I'll get new throttle body seals and get busy on it later this weekend. I've thought about putting a for sell sign for a while but just love my car to freakign much despite how long it just sits
I'm not a newbie to dsms either but I was just curious.
Thanks guys

You should contact that Red1991tsi guy that French mentioned!
PPHHTTTT Don't contact that Red1991TSI guy, he only thinks he knows what he is doing. :p No seriously it is a fairly easy task but if you do not have patience or time then PM Red. I have been hearing only good things about his TB work.

If you can handle and have the ability to do the TB shaft seal replacement yourself, this is the place to get the seals from. They are the 3930's, the first product on the page. You need 2 of them. Use dielectric grease when inserting the seals and reassembling the TB.

They are by far the best seals you can get. They are better than rubber o-rings because they never get dry or brittle and will pretty much last forever as long as they are installed properly. The vfaq mentions these very seals but they are almost impossible to find. This website is provided after hours of searching for these damn things so your welcome people. ;)

Here is a link to a description of the product mentioned. They are the blue ones in the pic.

I got new seals from JNZ and then it was a pain. The two screws that hold the plate to the shaft are almost as evil as the 12mm tranny bolt that's only accessible from under the car with everything removed. The ISC-to-TB screws come a close third.

Do you mean the FIAV screws on the bottom of the TB? I didn't have much trouble removing the ISC.

I think he is refering to the Tb butterfly. I used a 18v dewal drill on hammer drill to remove them, was so easy!!

Those strip easy too. I first talked about the shaft screws, which are made of some super soft material and their heads strip super easy if you don't have just the right screwdriver tip and be very careful about it.

Sweet, I'm getting ready to swap t/b's and need the seals to rebuild the new one. Thanks!

That Red guys tried to rip me off!! :p
I know you're joshing me Oldman but others may not get it.:( It's that whole "don't disparage my rep" thing.

And for the record, I can find the Chicago Rawhide seals at will. They run about $5 each. I currently have 6 or so which I use on rebuilds. They are a PITA to get into the hole.

Yes the butterfly plate screws are a biotch to get out without stripping. So are the FIAV screws. I have a trick which works pretty well. Trade secret!

It's not rocket science but sometimes things are worth paying for if you don't know what you're doing.

And my original post referring to myself was a joke. Thought it was funny to say "see that guy", and that guy happened to be me.:D

Dont be a sissy, just rebuild it yourself. There is only one way to learn things. After a couple times you'll be able to remove, rebuild, and re-install in under an hour.
