I was curious what boost am i capable of running....

My new setup is everythign you need for a 16G, and a smaller greddy IC. I'm not going to put my 550 cc injectors in until i get an upgraded computer, havent' decided which yet, I don't want 6 billion piggybacks. But on 450 CC injectors how far can i push the 16G in boost levels? I don't want to lean it out learning. I am installing my o2 voltage reader soon, and I'll be able to keep a precise Eye on it there, but for now how far can i push the boost on 93 Octane? Its more or less going to be 6 months to a year until i get the upgraded computer on, and I don't mind running a lower boost until such time, but how far can i push it, and still be on the bit rich side?

if you don't want to spend the money on a Logger, borrow one from another DSM'er in your area. Then log a few runs and steadily increase the boost until you feel okay with the results (knock and O2 voltage)

well I'm probably goign to have to go that route. I was jsut curious hw far the 450's can be pushed by a 16G. Having a 16G at 9 PSI could run a 14.1, on a setup very close and similar to mine. i ws curious on 93 octane how far i could go theoritcally. I always whave moroso to go to, but considerign the best I'll get is three runs, I dunno how close it is to being worth it.

Moroso sucks!
I agree you should get a logger and slowly increase the boost; But until you get it logged I would run at least 16psi-18psi...But thats me.

i'm just slightly missing the point

Well I could run 16-18 PSI, but considerign i want to wait out the fact i'm only going to have a fuel pump, and an fuel pressure regualtor, no piggybacks, or aftermarket systems, on stock injectors. I was looking for a roundabout palce to start, and slowly turn up the boost, 1 pound at a time, unitl i noice a decrease in the car's perfomrance. If I fudge the run, its only common sense to try it again wiht no changes. I was curious where should I start, and i wanted to see more theory on it rather then jsut turni it up. I lost an engine due to 18 PSI on a 16G with its 410 CFM injectors, while a denso fuel pump was in it. I don't want to go through the choice of rebuilding this one while I sitll have payments on it. I'm jsut trying to keep it one foot in the gutter, I'd rather be a bit slower and have it for a long time.

I ran about 17.5 psi the other day without problems. That was with a small 16g and 93 octane. EGT's still looked good. Haven't tried anything higher than that, but that's more than plenty for the street. I've backed down to 15psi. Just had to feel what the extra 2+ psi of boost felt like. NIGHT and DAY. Had the datalogger hooked up too.

I ran 17 PSI on stock injectors and a S16G fine. What aftermarket computer? A Haltech or some other standalone? Chips do nothing for us. Get a safc or greddy emanage etc and you'll be happy.

Good Idea, Easily 15 PSI

There 450's and its CCs

I agree
