Seriously that's why I feel like I have.
I have 97 GS-T Spyder, but it idles lumpy.
When the car is warmed up, it idles around 700..then it jumps to 800 then it comes down. EVERY 2 seconds.
And When I accelerate.., it is VERY CHOPPY ACCLERATION. It'll speed up and slow down and up and slow down... something like that.
Any idea? Thanks again in advance.

check for boost leaks... sounds to me like it could be a leak before the turbo after the maf. but if I were you I would still check everything.
.........Are you serious? Idle Speed Controller (ISC) This device is used to control your idle, if you have a looping idle, high idle, or a wondering idle often this device has gone bad. This particular Part is known to fail so if you are having idle problems chances are its this part, plain and simple.

A boost leak will do that too, so relax. It could be both for all you know.
I've just gone through it a month ago with two good ISCs. On top of that, the original poster stated his acceleration acts up....hmmm, coincidence?...I'll go with a leak over a bad ISC, because the ISC does not affect acceleration.

He also said he has choppy acceleration, which has nothing to do with the ISC. Plain and simple.

ISC could be bad yes but if the isc is bad there is something else wrong with it causing the acceleration problem. I would venture to guess there is one problem causing both symptoms.

Pull your codes while your at it, and not a bad time to check your tps output.

Just a few suggestions.
Make sure you get the readings while your at autozone unless you want to buy one of those voltameters.
EDIT- Just wondering, you havn't done anything to your car lately have you? Like performance mods? Check your plugs, if you havn't had any maintanence done to it in a while you might as well get it done trust me it will show. I had that problem, replaced plugs, o-rings on injectors and got all new sensors, timing belt water pump, oil pump- I got it all for like 500 bucks after my insident with bending my valves I do nothing but perform regular maintanence on it because it was a bitch pulling that head in my 420a and I vow never to do that again.

Hmm actually I don't think you can self test the second gen... never heard of it myself. (so it would be a code scanner/reader not a voltmeter or test light)

BTW, the 420 head is 2x easier to pull and rebuild than the 4g63 (in a tsi awd)
Been there done that. Wasn't bad.

Anyone tried out the 30$ shipped code scanners on ebay? I was thinking of ordering one for the other car, throwing the cel light but no symptoms. (jetta tdi)

MY FUCKING ASS, easier? I had a top timing belt cover on my gsx and it was easier than fuck to get my head off my 4g63. There is way more parts for it to so I ended up getting a stage 3 head for 300 bucks, it cost me that much just to get the new oem rebuild parts for my 420a. Oh and you can self test your sensors I do it when all the time with mine, a chiltons or a haynes tells you what readings your sensors should put out and its just that easy it gives you a walk through on how to check them also.

did anyone think that his problem could be spark related. like its not firing on all cylinders. or it could be a cracked manifold too. just a guess. this is something that youd have to see and or hear in person to get a better idea of whats going on.
