I recently lost pressure in my clutch pedal on my 98 AWD and was all ready to bleed my clutch and replace the slave cylinder. I figured I'd check my fluid level before I went through all that and found my resovoir not only dry but a huge hole through the bottom. It appears to have been melted but nothing up there (that I can see) generates anough heat to do so. Does the fluid eventually go bad and rot or something? My dad has owned all sorts of Porsches, Corvettes and street rods and whatnot and he even doesn't have a clue what went on. Has this ever happened to anyone else????

might just be master cyc. One day i noticed that the clutch would hit the floor and not come back first thing i went for was the fluid and sure enough NOTHING ! there was no fluid outside so when i stuck my head under the driver side dash i noticed the fluid was leaking into the car. So i have to replace the the master cyc and bleed the it. after that i havent had a problem. good luck

Theres an actual hole in the resovoir that the cluth fluid sits in. I'w willing to bet there isnt anything wrong w/my master cylinder. It just isnt gettin any fluid bacause it all went through the big ass hole in the res. Really weird
