Crash Bumper???

Hey, I just purchased the drift front bumper for my 92 eclipse and it doesn't fit over the crash bumper. Usually I would just take it off and put the new bumper on but my dad is requiring me to keep the crash bumper on. Is there anyway to get the new bumper on without ruining the crash bumper

I have not seen that particular front cover in person, but I would just ditch the bumper one way or another. That bumper is not a "crash" bumper but rather a federally mandated 5mph low cost body work bumper. If that is not an option, go back to stock or get a talon bumper for looks.

Its god telling you not to put a body kit on a DSM ;)

But seriously... It will not fit without serious cutting, if your not up for cutting it or simply loosing the support then your SOL...

You will have to cut. Some members on this board have done it but most just get rid of it. I doubt a seriouly hacked bumper will stand up much better than no bumper. Your bumper is fiberglass anyway so any impact will crack it anyway. I'd try to convince your dad that it doesn't really serve much purpose (especially with a fiberglass bumper) and shouldn't effect your safety.

I thought all the 1g bumpers were steel (hence the reason for the dejontool aluminum bumper). The 2g's are fiberglass.
