I am looking for either the best place (price) to get a new set of RC injectors or someone who knows what they are talking about to tell me that Delphi's a great injectors.

I know that certain top name racers use Delphi's but the goodyear tires that indycars use are hardly similar to the ones that you and I get at Discount Tire. So, I have to assume that the Professional race team injectors aren't quite off the shelf either. So, that isn't going to be enough to convince me.

If convincing enough information gets posted about Delphi's you can find a pretty sweet deal here: Fuel Management Package Deal

Anyone?

I guess some better questions would be:

IYHO, if you had to choose from RC Engineering, Lucas, Delphi, Nippon Denso, or PTE injectors, which would you choose and why?

Who has the best deal you know of on these injectors?

And, I see RC/Lucas printed a lot but I don't see the name Lucas anywhere on rceng.com why are these always listed together?

RC's are pintle style, ball/disk are a nicer injector. Id go with FIC's or PTE's mainly because theyre both very reasonably priced, and ball/disk style. On ebay they have PTE's for like 295$ shipped from 550's-850cc's i think, and check fuelinjectorclinic.com also.

I was talking with a very reputable and knowledgeable DSM shop owner the other day, and he recommended the Densos. And I've never heard of anybody having a problem with them. He said he's seen several guys have problems with the RC ones, which I found surprising. He even had a Lexus in the shop right then that he said needed a new engine because the RC injectors failed. Don't know the specifics besides that, though. And I had been considering some RC 550s, but now I'm starting to reconsider that. I may just keep saving up for some ND 660s.

I have had a few people tell me that the RC's aren't quite as good because they are spindle (spintle?) style as opposed to ball/disc style injectors. Almost to a man people have told me to make sure I get ball/disk style injectors when I get them.

Theyre called 'pintle' style. And reason i tell people not to get rc's is the fact that they dont have as nice of a spray pattern as ball/disk injectors. Rc's arent less reliable, but i do believe they clog easier than the ball/disk style.

Also, RC injectors are NOT pintle style injectors, they are disk style injectors. The stock injectors have a pintle. I have seen both personally, the rc's have a multi tip hole like in the previous picture of the disk/ball type.

Here is what the differences in ball, disk, and pintle style injectors are, which is also what gives them their names. A "pintle" injector uses a needle plunger to block the orifice, a "ball" injector uses a ball shaped plunger, and a "disc" injector uses a flat disc to block the orifices. When the solenoid is energized, the pintle/ball/disc are pulled back and the fuel under pressure is allowed to flow through the orifice(s).

RC's are disk style, FIC's are ball style, and stock injectors use the pintle style. For some more info on the different styles of injectors and the benifits of there design check this out:

No problem, glad i could help out.:) Another thing to think about when purchasing injectors is to find out what fuel pressure the company uses to rate them at. For example i think RC rates their injectors at 43.5psi, FIC @43psi, and i have heard PTE rates their injectors at 49psi.

So if you do the math using the formula on RC's webpage, a PTE 780cc injector @ 49 psi is really ~a 730cc injector @ 43psi. Then take into consideration that 1g's are supposed to run ~38 psi base fp and you wind up with a smaller injector with any of them. Just something to keep in mind.
