Does a bad cat, mean I won't pass smog? I had mechanic tell that my 1G would not pass smog because of this and that I should replace it too.
I would suggest using what you use all the time. Probely some 92 octane right. The motor was designed to use it and unless you have a detonation problem than you should not need the higher octane.SpdKlzU said:[B but I was wondering if I used a higher octane (eg. 100) if that would affect anything? . It would never fly here....Smog laws are very stringent in Cali. They even use a dyno now instead of just a sniff test...fortunately AWD cars still are sniffed. But This state allows very little emmisions beyond when the vehicle is newNeil92TSi said:Actually I don't have a cat and i passed Pennsylvania emissions testing. Of course, they didn't know that i don't have the cat in there, but hey... it just barely passed, but passing is passing, right?
