Still have to finish the wiring, install more safety equipment, install the seats, chute mount and plumb the fuel system. Hoping to have it all up and running in the begining of the year.

Thanks a lot for all who have helped thus far, the guys at the shop Wier's Automotive, Ron Shearer, Marco @ Magnus, Brian Nutter @ wiseco, and Keith @ Turbotrix.

Here its almost mechanically done, fuel system is plumbed, boost controller installed, vac lines done. Still needed to remove some things to install the scattershield and install the harness after its completed, but then just safety equipment.

Took a few pics with the blackberry, will get real ones next week when the rest of this is completed.

Shearer fabrications removeable chute mount assembly came in.

Chute angle is where it needs to be and the mount is close to the car where it is supposed to be. Sorry for some more crappy blackberry pictures. Almost time to dust the car off (wash it). Its getting really close now but I won't wash it until it moves under its own power.

Car was assembled and ready for the dyno, results.....

First graph is e85 at 38-39psi and 11* at peak tq 13* peak timing, netted 832/567

Image

Switched to e98 39-40 psi 1 more* of timing netted 864 hp

Image

Turned it up to 42 psi but ran into some other issues, 888hp 611tq

Image

Have a few things to straighten out, throw on a larger turbine housing and go back for more power. Interesting enough on wastegate pressure 19-20psi car made 552 awhp.

Any chance you will be removing the side mirrors and the factory wing? Have you looked into or created belly pans for the car? Do you plan to keep the complete front air damn open? These are all very important areas when trying to conquer the texas mile that I'm sure you have put some thought into.

None of those mods would make it legal to run the car in the production supercharged class. Car wasn't built to run at Texas, Texas is not a real LSR track so half of the safety equipment I have is not needed there. I will be running the car at Maxton, possibly Loring, or El Mirage. Once I am happy with the records in PS I can do aero modifications to run in Super Street and play at Texas as well.

Texas is fun to run at and cool for bragging right but as its not a sanctioned LSR track no real LSR records can be set there. The neither SCTA,ECTA,BUB or any other LSR venue recognizes any run made at that track as a record.

Went back to the dyno tonight and found a few interesting things, the 1.01 - 1.28 housing swap cost me 150rpmish spool but at the same boost level picked up 50whp. Onto the good stuff, car made 1033hp/658tq STD it made 1021hp 651tq uncorrected and 1007hp 641tq SAE, so no matter what way you slice it.

I cannot begin to thank my sponsors enough, Brian and Jason at Wier's automotive for all the help and place to work on the car over the years. Tom and Dave for providing me a hell of a EMS; Marco for all the help and the Manifold; Ron for years of **** talking, support and and hell of a manifold; and finally Chris, Ben and the rest of the guys at national speed for the dyno usage.

Very nice. I have been following your build for a while. Are you going to the shootout?

#21 ·
Where and when did you get your cams? Fpr5's are not being made anymore right?

#22 ·
Timing is 11* at peak tq and 18-19 at 9500.

Its not looking like I will make the shootout right now.

Cams I got over a year and a half ago second hand from Tom H.

No car is on 4 2150cc injector and they are at 100% duty cycle, second fuel rail setup is on its way with 4 more 1000cc injectors to make it 3150/hole.

#28 ·
Yeah 1650s would have been tapped out a while ago. Car is also running 55psi base pressure to try to overcome the face its out of injector. With the 1000s added we should be able to get the base pressure back down and make the pump happier.
