It's 67 MB and I created this video to show all of the people asking about ebay turbos to find there answer here.

Perhaps this should be stickied because hell of alot of dudes ask about Ebay Turbos on here.

Here is the review/video/trials and tribulations of the Ebay Turbo.

Wow. Just watched it. It was a long download but worth it.

At least you came out of it with some extra cash. Did your engine suffer from all that oil loss?

Thanks for making the video.

I vote for a sticky on this one.

awesome vid. thanks for the heads up even though I'm sure all of us know not to buy ebay crap unless it's a certified dealer of some sort.

I can even upload this video onto several servers if anyone has trouble with downloading it.

It's the whole way on the bottom.. you have to click on the tiny link that says Download Here!!!

I put it all together because I never wanted anyone in the entire world to ever go through what I went through.

That turbo beat me down all winter long.. I slaved out in the garage freezing my balls off and then finally... 3 days ago I start it up and it shits in my face.

I got my cash back and it's time to go turbo shopping. I want my 50 trim...

Guess what the sponsored ad for your dwnl is?
EBAY!

lmfao...
How ironic!

Well, maybe we can salvage the rest of the crap from that kit.
I know who's going to teach me how to do kick ass car video's.

I ELECT, ummm... YOU!
:p

We'll get it all straightened out.
Just going to take some better planning, and parts.
I ain't goin' nowhere. So we'll get it.

(Topped out at 1.05MB/sec, good link) That is just painful to watch. I must say though, your pain is a gain for all. Someone had to go through it, and I am sorry it had to be you.

Too bad I cant download the video at work. Anyways I had bought the T3/T4 ebay kit and also a new 6-bolt motor. and was going to install the kit on my 7-bolt before I swapped it to see if I could blow the turbo up, just for informational purposes. Guess he beat me to it. but I am still going to do it when I return from Iraq un July.

Hmmm... There is a guy called "Just-Intercoolers" I bought a big 16g from him, the fake one of course. for about $200.00 Ive had it on my car for about 1000miles and it does just fine, even came with an adjustable wastegate. I think if you check it out first, and ask some questions, that only people that really know about turbo will be able to answer.

I guess I just got lucky, but I think I problay wont buy that SS Autochrome Header and 02 Housing I had my eye on a while ago due to reading a few reviews that made me learly....

Im going with a Ported EVO III manifold and a Ported EVO III 02 Housing. and a stock heatshield That way its still "Stock Appearing"

There is no way to tell the difference between a 16g and a 14b unless you took off the intake pipe, or looked very closly at the turbing housing flange.

Most people will never know, about the manifold and o2 housing either. If you use the stock heat shield.

I know I got off the subject a little bit,... well actualy a whole lot.

But there are good finds on ebay. You just have to do a little research.

There ARE good deals on ebay.
And its mostly on used/ or slightly discounted name brand parts.

I know karak asked the guy a MILLION questions.
Guy fed him detailed, informative horseshit.
Turbo went on and it was total garbage.

The knock off shit is 90% junk.
You are silly to think otherwise.

What you buy now you will soon buy again.

I sincerely hope, (and I truly mean it) your turbo lasts a long time.
But the odds aren't in your favor.

Trust me, I just got home from his house again tonight to help
sort out some more shit... its finally coming along. But its got a ways to
go. And the whole car is setup for a 50 trim now.
But we don't have a 50 trim. Because the ebay one was gay.
See the problem?
:wall:

Yeah, the odds are totally not in your favor at all. Just give that turbo a little while and it will probally shit the bucket for sure.

Ebay is awesome for so much shit... and this is only the 2nd time i've been screwed but still got refunded.

Ebay turbo's are pretty gay and that's a fact.

Its too bad you had the center catridge UP-SIDE-DOWN!!! I am not going to say that you should buy ssac turbos because they are fine......but I am also not going to discredit them because of an installation mistake! I had one of these things and i noticed that the center cartridge was upside down....how many t3/t4s have the same oil drain flange as a stock mitsubishi turbo? None that i know of so basically you starved that turbo because the oil passage is designed for utilize oil going from the entrance on. I am sorry you didnt have good luck with this turbo but mine lasted all of the 5000 miles i had mine till i got rid of the car to a friend who is still driving it with no problems.

I dont want to get flamed so i am going to leave it at that.....the reason your turbo died was because you installed it wrong!!! It may be true that ebay turbos have a much shorter lifespan but the failure of your turbo was your fault! When you get you a new turbo...name brand or not...make sure everything is set up as it should because people put these together and people make mistakes.

Again I am sorry you had to go through that.....also, your wastegate was just missing the fire ring......take a look at a tial set up/
