Gentlemen,
in the past weeks I've been experiencing these problems with my 1G and I'd love some help in troubleshooting them.
First of all, most of the LEDs in my dash (radiator, battery, brake etc) seem to be partially lit all the time. They are not 100% bright like when they are actually ON because let's say the liquid in my coolant reservoir is low, my Radiator LED switches on. But when all the fluids are ok and my handbrake is not pulled, I still see most of the LEDs in my dash that are partially ON, and this is especially easy to notice for me at night obviously.
Second thing I noticed, they blink according to my engine's status, low revs and they are about to die, high revs and they become steady and a bit brighter (but never fully lit).
Now, I don't know if this has anything to do with the electrical problem I mentioned above, however I've been having boost issues as well. It seems like I can't get past 10psi, no matter what I set my MBC at (yes, it's connected correctly, same setup as when I used to run good). When I floor the car, it goes to 10psi and then drops to 7-8psi, and if I keep my foot on the accelerator, it will not increase the revs, it will just 'sputter and cough'. The fact that the revs don't go up either, makes me exclude the possibility that I have a boost leak.
I also noticed that if I insist and keep the accelerator pressed while it doesn't go up in revs, then the car becomes hardly driveable since it will not be easy at all to go up in revs from idle (maybe too much fuel was injected?).
Also, I have a serious case of Idle Surge. We are not talking about a few hundred rpms here, we are talking about 1K rpm idle surge intervals, anywhere from 1000 rpm - 2000 rpm all the way to 1500rpm - 2500 rpm. All the time, even when it's warmed up. I already changed the BISS and added a new o-ring, tried adjusting the idle (grounding the pins as described in the VFAQ) with no luck.
I have fairly new spark plugs and wires.
I've played with my AFC, tried richening and leaning, same exact result.
Any idea if these two issue are related, and what could cause my problems?
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!
Walter
