I'm going to be moving to LA in June. I am going to convert my car back to stock for the emissions test. I have the stock downpipe and cat. What other piping do I need to convert back to a stock exhaust? I have a spyder GST. I know a gs won't match up. Can I find what I need on any GST?

Does anyone know how often you have to pass the emissions test? Is it a one time deal when moving to a new state, or once every couple of years thing?

I heard you have to convert back to the stock air filter or else you automatically fail. Is this true?

Thanks so much for the help! Any other advise would be appreciated.

if you have an aftermarket exh manifold without the CARB that will fail you also.
This is why I like the SlowBoyRacing cast manifold. It looks like an OE manifold and even has provisions for the heat shield. Most people would never know it didn't come stock on the car.

Just because you have CARB legal modifications doesn’t mean you won't fail the emissions test. A smog technician might not believe you or the CARB sticker/number stamped on the new part and require you take it before a state certified smog referee. CA and smog regulations are no fun for DSM's.

the guy told me they no longer use smog tests on the east coast at least, mabye just the southern states. but he told me all i had to have was all my safety things and then of course the cat, other than that he isnt going to pop my hood or plug in an OBD or do a smog test on the muffler, this is of course on a 1G

so your problem is solved, go get a 1G and gut the stock cat :)
