So, i purchased some basic seat brackets off ebay for about $55 from obx.

The bracket has four holes in the cross bars that are tapped to except the same bolts that the evo 9 seats use to attach the mounting brackets to the slides, however, the holes dont line up with the seat so i had to make some modifications

I then just bought a 3 ft section of steel angle stock, measured accordingly and cut 4 small brackets and then drilled all of them.

The passenger side was done first, and took a long time as i had a lot of trial and error. The driver side only took a few hours (mainly because my drill needed to charge half way through)

This was fairly simple, and the seats are at the same height as the stock. Only problem is that it mobed the seats closer to the door. Not aweful, just took a minute to adjust.
Here is the final result (sorry for the lack of during pics, i forgot how many people want to do this mod)

I just wanted to ahow that this could be done easily and fairly cheap. No welding needed and as for cutting, i just used a grinder with a cutting wheel on it.

It would have had a lot more picture of the "during" process, but my phone decided to eat the 32 gig memory card i had just put in it. So no pictures were saved =/
Ill do my best to maybe get under the seat and take some tomorrow. If anyone ever wants some more details, feel free to ask.

only issue i have with doing this is how it repositions you slightly to toward the door. the stock position keeps your legs center under the wheel.
As you can see from the photo, it moved me about an inch to the left. not awful, but took a minute to get used to

Call me a lucky bastard if you will, but my younger brother owns an evo 9 and swapped in all leather interior. These sat in my parents garage for about 2 years before my dad told him to take em or they were getting tossed, but he had no room to store them. So now they are stored in my car =)

Don't mean to be a smart ass but those are evo 8 recaros FYI. I have wanted to get my hands on a set of evo 9 seats for a long time, just can't seem to pull the trigger on 700 dollar seats in my 2g haha. Great info to have nonetheless!

You are correct! I was u der there making sure the bolts were still nice and tight (juat being safe) and they are marked evo 8. Odd that they were in an evo 9, but the car certainly wasnt stock when he got it. Sorry for the mistake on that.
