Well I haven't done much exhaust work, but I figure this is a stupid question...that's why it's in newbies! I searched as well, I guess I just don't know the right terms to get the hits I needed to see. On an exhaust system, I went to go 3" turbo back, but right now my catalytic is EXTREMELY clogged, and all I can afford is the catback, so if I go with a 3", will it mount up to my stock downpipe? That's the big burning question.

No it will not bolt up to your stock dp. You would have to get a reducer from 3" to 2" and weld a flange on that or just weld that on without a flange. If you don't have access to a welder a muffler shop could probably do it for cheap.

Not that I'm saying you should, nor do I advocate it but you could just rod out the cat until you can replace it. The EPA and emissions police frown upon it.

I'd knock the cat out and save for the turboback. You don't want to have a three inch catback and bottleneck it with the dp

Well if you want a full 3", isn't it true that you'd have to port your a. Turbo in/outlet, b. o2 housing, then all the way out the back?? That's a lot of stuff to do just for a true 3"..
