Old California Smog got me. I didn't know that an adjustable BOV will fail inspection. My 2g has a Greddy UICP and a Greddy Type S BOV. Is there someway to adapt my stock BOV to the Greddy UICP? The smog tech said all was perfect except for the visual.

I passed with pretty much everything in my mod list on the car when it came to smog.

Trick, ask the shop before you go if they care about numbers or visual, most only care about numbers.

Yup, and thats exactly what I told him. That it was recirculating. He said that it must be NON adjustable. Lame, I know.
That is pretty lame, i also told my smog guy who did my car that it was a Bypass Valve, not a Blow Off Valve. But your right thats the lamest thing i have ever heard

Were in Cali are you? i know i deal with So Cal cops bullshit all the time

I live in Sunny San Diego area. East County area. I really wasn't thinking about it when I took it in. I just did a fresh set of plugs and oil change, which I do for all my cars before a smog. Anyways, dug around my garage and found my old plastic stock POS UICP and Bypass valve. I'll just throw it on to pass smog then I'll put it back on. I got a free retest stamped on the paperwork.
