well i was messing around with the throttle wire today and it just went back to normal BUT when i pressed the throttle, the wire would just hang and not go through the tube! so i revved it up to like 3 grand and it was fine then i tryed 5grand and then the throttle was stuck down once again, and rpms flew up!!! SOMEONE HAS TO HAVE A CLUE ON WHATS HAPPENING?? please if anyone knows anything or thinks of why this is going on post it THANKS!

Look at the cruise control unit (the black box where your throttle cables meet that is dead center on your firewall). On the driver's side of the box, look at the cable coming out of the box. Is it in there FULLY? Lift the cable up and push it 'up and into' the box to make sure it is not hung up. If the cable does not snap back in- then it's out and has no problem clearning the box.

So then you check the other areas of the throttle cable. Then you check to make sure when the gas pedal is pushed- the throttle cable is not getting hung up where it ends (where it connects to the throttle plate- meaning the spring that flaps the throttle plate is still good).

Examine the box for cruise control first (what I said in the first paragraph)

cruise control is on there! everything looks like it is correct there is 3inches through the top of the pedal hanging there its a cable ! it should be tight to hold the pedal out not in and its not doing that! what can it be?

There could always be teh chance it's an object stuck in the throttle body itself. I'd get a new spring if it is rusty- it should NOT be rusty.
