i had niteshades on my 1g a while back and didn't like it so i got rid of them. they collected dust really easy. you look like you've done a fine job though.

by the way, i put four coats on mine and light shined through just fine. they mainly put that warning there so you won't cover the DOT reflectors built into your lamps.

Lets see them on!!!! Looks good though. How does it look up close in person?
Im gonna do them next weekend, that was just a test. Believe me I want them on but I have to study for finals and finish up some projects:( . Ill post pics when Im done though. It looks ok up close, since it was just an old lens with broken tabs I did it outside when it was windy, so you can see some bumps where pollon and dirt got under the coats. When I do it on my good lenses Im gonna do it inside.

+1...I definitely think you should do all the brake lights. It should help pull the black/red "theme" off as you said. Any pics of the rims your getting?

Im actually still looking. I found some rims cheap that arent black that I might just paint myself because all the black rims I have looked t so far I havent liked and they are too expensive.

Should I clear coat the lights too after I paint them?

Yea I would put a few coats on like someone already stated previously...I've done it with/without clear but without it just looks kind of blah. The clear helps to give it gloss and you can wet sand and buff any dirt or imperfections that show up in the finished product. Keep in mind I cleared mine at work (with automotive clear and with an actual paint gun and baked them). I'm not sure how much the rattle can clear would like buffing so if your using a spray can I would just try to clear them in a clean, dust free, environment and give them plenty of time to dry before messin with them. You may be able to buff them just fine if you put enough coats on but I thought I should mention that I have zero experience with buffing spray can clear...hope this helps at least a little.

Oh and btw I really like the rims man, nice choice ;) . I think with the black tails/front lenses and the black rims your cars gonna look pretty damn good. Only other things I might do is paint the upper half black and get a dark tint to help pull off the black and red theme even more. But then again I'm kind of biased towards the 2 tone black/red :p .
