i just bought aa 95 gsx with about 65k on it for about 13k at a dealership and my rich friend bought a new wrx the same day. I was wondering if my car is better or worse then the wrx. I know that they have 17 more hp but i was ondering if they are better in every other catigory and what it would take for me to beat one from a stop. Thanks for ur help

its all driver and the condition of your car. I was in the same situation not too long ago. We raced many times, whoever had the better launch took it, However: I did have an exhaust/intake but I had a 13g (smaller than your t25/same turbo as a wrx). Now he needs a 50 shot to even compete.

The only thing he'd beat your car on is a warranty since his is new. Even with a warranty option I would still rather eat a handful of thumbtacs than ever own a wrx.

Right on the Money man any DSMer ever thinking about going to purchase a WRX should not only be shot but smacked in the head :tat: :slam: I mean for reals that car is fugly and id rather get the 17Hp less and drive a sexy ass DSM. But ubcourse to each his own... but i totally agree id rather eat a handful of thumbtacs...

are you sure blackboost? Ive got them here in front of me....and while the difference is extrememly marginal, Id say the 13g is smaller.
Flow numbers are the name of the game there. It doesn't matter if the T-25 looks bigger than the 13G, because the fact is that the 13G flows more (just a little bit more) than the T-25...;)

For looks I'd rather have a 2nd gen but for drag racing I'll forgive the looks of a WRX. The stock turbo is good enough for 12s plus with AWD you need some serious mods to run your Spyder against one so the looks shouldn't be an issue since you only will see them from the rear anyway. :D j/k

I gotta defend the WRX,AWD/turbo is the shit even if it comes in a so-so looking package.

If I could replace my 90' with a 03' WRX i would!! I would also enjoy working on a car that every part is clean, no dirt and grime and nasty shit that falls in your face while lying under the car. I like the engineering of the entire car! My dads boss just bought one for his son with just about every performance option. I did not know that there were so many optional "mods" you could get from the factory( gauges, beefy transmission, suspension, exhaust). I got the chance to drive it to the store (about 2mi of country road, pretty straight) I must say that i've never been in a car that reminded me of my dsm so much! That car launched just as good if not better than a dsm could and was about equal to my car(mods at bottem) up to about 5000rpm! If i was going to buy one though id wait for the new model in 04' or 05' Im just taking a guess but i think its called a Impreza WXR-GTI. Im also really tired of seeing the blue ones, I love the ruby color(very classy in my opinion)

Well one of my friends has a 2002 Black WRX he has a AEM Cold Air and that HKS million Dollar Titanium Exhaust and i still spank him silly FWD or not. So honestly i think will be no big deal, you guyz make them seem like they are MKIV supras or something. Yes the WRX is a good car to tune but the looks aint doing nothing for me if u really want a new car that bad get the Evo. Did i metion that they look like Toyota Eco's from the back? Well i by no means hate but thats just my opinion im sure i will get my ass handed to me one of these dayz by a WRX but maybe by then i will have my AWD conversion and i will still love my DSM more. Well talk to you peeps later and keep the turbos spinning..

I actually likw the rear of the wrx's?.

When they first came out they were ugly,as I see them more and more they are looking better.

If I got one I would have to wait for the sti version(260hp stock last time I heard). I might even get a wagon for the real sleeper look, they still look ugly to me though.

I had a brief race with a wagon once, I wasn't sure it was a wrx til I say the bright chrome badge on the tailgate.

I think it would be different to work on a boxer engine after I am so used to seeing inline fours?.

isnt the WRX like 100-200 pounds heavier. Thought I seen 3100 or there abouts for them.

Also why get a wrx and not one of those modded Lancers for 25K.

Just my 2 cents

DSM AWD is 50/50 front/rear power correct?

I heard the suburu's are 60/40 or 70/30 front/rear? what is correct and is 50/50 better?

"Full-time AWD system automatically distributes power between front and rear wheels based on traction needs."
