GVR4 runs low 10's, no nitrous

I'm posting this thread in Gen Tech so that the info can be found later by people searching and because the Lounge empties itself. Plus I think that the people that are in here and search, as opposed to the sewer we call the Lounge, are generally more interested in this stuff and what it really takes.

A certain GVR4 just landed itself way up on the DSM times list with some decent parts and some stock parts.

This is a quote, I don't know any more details than this so, Enjoy!

10.275@132.75 6 10's, slowest was 10.81 from missing fourth, 133.14 fastest mph, stock 7.8 bottom end, stock head, 272's, RED, Shep tranny of course, stock flywheel, BJ's intake w/stock TB, VPC/AFC, a few little issues to work out and it's 9's no nitrous.

I would be interested in knowing what type of...

Intercooler
Exhaust
Boost he was running
OEM head gasket?

I guess this only supports Van and Nukes theory of the stock head (1G) NOT being a resriction. Upgrading the intake mani and cams would be a better upgrade option. I was looking at the BJs intake mani, looked nice and must work well. Bit $$$ though.

AMS Gvr4 ran a 9.77 at 145mph or it might have been a awd tsi or gsx not sure which car but that is damn fast. Noone wants to race AMS cars cause they are frickin fast!!!

That is awesome. It just shows how well stock parts are able to perform at the track. For 4 cylinders our cars can handle a lot of mods, and run very good times. Most cars need new crate motors to run close to that without nitrous. I know my uncle had a 502 and could not run 9's without nitrous, and just recently he bought a 596 to get into the 9's without nitrous. This is very impressive and if a video does surface it will race holy hell in some circles, especially all the trouble the video of the gvr4 running 11's caused.

yes our dsms are the best bang for your buck imports and they are also very good at giving alot of more expensive cars a run for there money, literally.

HAHA What other import 4 cylinder could you own and stand around with the mustang and f-body guys and laugh at the other imports. HEHEHE

Stock motor?

Is that on stock 6 bolt or 7 bolt? I wonder how stock 7.8:1 can spool FPRED turbo. I'm looking to buy FPred. Has anyone in here have experience with it?

Adam's Galant never ran that fast.

That is the time that they ran in their EVOII.

As for racing them, I can think of a couple that would.

he's also revving the stock heads to 8500rpm iirc (could be a bit higher)
