help... Car is overheating with new Thermostat!!?

so i changed my head gasket on my 1998 turbo eclipse. I knoticed that going up a big hill it would bump up to like 80 percent heat on the temp guage but one i would rev it it would cool. car never over heats when just idling though...? my power steering pump is bad and i thought that might be the problem but im not so sure about that. Maybe ill try and disconnet it and do some pulls watching out for the temp guage. and if there was air in the system then i would have no heat but i do so im totally lost.

Sounds like you probally have air bubbles in the system, was the system bleed after replacing head gasket? Does the car leak any fluid? No the power steering pump will have nothing to do with this.

+1 on the air. Try burping the system and see if it helps. If that doesnt help, search for over heating problems and there are a few good threads that go into detail on what to do.
