I'm not sure if this is more of a help question or a parts tech question, my guess was parts tech. I ordered an FP BigT28 but it's beyond backordered. My gsx has a turbo on the verge of becomming blown (alot of shaft play).

I was wondering can I buy a green turbo and bolt it up to a stock fuel system and stock intercooler/ IC piping for now and only boost stock PSI? I have future plans for an Intercooler and fuel upgrades ony no cash at the time being. I really have to get my car done this summer due to the start of the new school semester. I can't wait for FP to get parts to built the t28. I have to have the car up and running before school starts.
Also, I ordered an evo manifold and have a ported o2 housing should i use both of those. Or should I use the stock 2g exhaust manifold. I know loren's car is running a ported O2 and a ported 2g manifold. It seems to work ok for him. Please help with any info possible, Thanks.

well stock boost on my car is 12psi, all i can do on my boost controller is turn it off and risk the spiking, or turn it on and turn the "Set" to zero and the "Gain" to like sero or one. Then tune it from there so that i can level off any spiking. But the stock intercooler will beable to take that much flow? I always thought it flowed like 195cfm and something light happen to it or possible blow off a pipe.

What kind of boost controller do you have...you should be able to lower the boost. But anyways...as long as you keep your PSI down on the Green...your stock components should be ok. Just be careful of high spikes and boost creep. Creeping on the green could be disastous (sp)

ahhhh In my opinion, thats a whole lot of turbo for a stock setup. I would recommend against it, as I bet ForcedPerformance would as well. Don't forget the extra lag its going to give you without aftermarket exhaust work. I would be carefull/worried even at stock boost.

Has anyone looked at my mods list????? Why in the hell would I bolt that turbo up to a completely stock car? I just ment stock fuel and intercooler. Everything else is moded to hell.

Lower boost on a boost controller? How is this possible? Any instruction manual tells you it is not possible or not recommended to do such a thing. Since boost controllers run off "Sets" which is percent of boost above stock. Well at least my Blitz SBC-iD is like that. I could try and rig it and set it to auto and set boost on 10psi, but then again I believe that is going to open a whole new window for error.

Yeah i saw your sig, all you really need is at least a 190 lph or 255 lph fuel pump. and you should be pretty safe. Plus with an external wastegate you shouldn't worry about boost creep. Just remember even with the new fuel pump, keep the boost at around 14 psi with the stock injectors. Fuel pumps are like $100, not to shabby. You should upgrade that as well as you turbo at the same time. Just to be safe.

I would recommend against the Internally gated Green, but it's a cheaper route. With the external route, your going to need some sort of tubular O2 or a new manifold. I would go with the O2 route personally, that's what I am doing. Your also going to need a new SS oil feed line and I would also get a new oil return line, but they say you can mod the stock 2g one to work. You can't go wrong with teh Big28, but if you like me, I decided that I wanted more power on pump gas.

Good luck

You should be fine with the Internally gated green, boost creep will be your only enemy. I would order it with a 7psi waste gate actuator spring installed so that your new low boost setting would be only 7psi before it would push the gate open. You can then always increase this level with your boost controller. An external dump is a super duper good idea with an internally gated green, but may not be necessary. -Ian
