Hey guys. Ive just picked up a 91 gst and noticed that my rpm's at idle is right at 2k. Even when the vehicle is warmed up the idle will not drop down. I'm sure someone has had this happen to them on here and I'm wondering what dirrection you've gone into to fix this problem. Thanks in advance

Number one thing to check is to make sure that your coolant lines are running to and from your throttle body and that they are both hot when the engine is hot. After that make sure that you have slack in your throttle cable at your throttle body. Next is to try adjusting your base idle set screw (this should yeild alot of posts on it if you type "biss" in to the search function). Another thing to check is for vacuum/boost leaks, if you havent done so yet, you can make a home made tester for around $20 or so, again a search will yeild plenty of results if you type in homemade boost leak tester, happy testing.

+1 for post above^^^^ pretty much should be a excellent place to start for your problem

Thanks for the info! I felt I was gonn get ĂĽber flamed for this thread lol
Part of you should, The search bar would have lead you to like 3 different threads about your problem :D

Ok! I know this post is going on a little ancient buuuut i had to let it sit for a bit while some other things took priority. So UPDATE: Found that the PCV Valve was garbage, it was blowing my dipstick out of the tube when i got on it, also the vacuum line running to it had a slit in it, so i will install this weekend and report back. Also, I did notice that when the car warms up, the idle comes down to normal RPM's. So i guess its just High Idle when its cold. Any other ideas?
