I live 50 miles south of houston. Im game.
I just cant bring my car up there. My engine is being rebuilt.
However, I can ride my CBR up there. If I am correct, a lot of bikes ride up to coney on sat. This is the one on westimer(correct me if I am wrong)

I think the Coney he was talking about is in Humble and is off of FM1960 just West of Hwy 59.

I think I am going to do an engine rebuild also so I would really like to talk to you about it. I have had so many problems with the car lately I should just sell it but I can't since I know the potential it has.

Yeah, the coney i was talking about is just off FM 1960. Our neighborhood is pretty full of bikes, so you'd fit right in. One guy has a turbo + nitrous on his bike. Pretty insane. I'll see what's going on next weekend, this weekend was pretty shot for me, didn't get anything done on the car, but I finally did get a computer at my house. Anyway, I'll let people know what's up by thursday or so. Check back later if y'all wanna.

 

I guess I was tallking about the one on westimer. Talk about a lot of bikes. Lets just say if one bike fell over, it would be a domino effect.
My bike doesnt have nitrous or turbo, but it is still fast enough.
I would love to get together. Maybe we could start something big. Let me know about this weekend. I will help out any way possible. Plus, I need to get together with JW.

Guys, Westheimer is fine with me if you want to meet up or something. I am at SW houston , so westheimer is like 10-15mins away.
Just decide a place we can all meet.

 

Well I'm not too sure what I'm gonna be able to do this weekend. The parents are visiting from Minnesota in a couple weeks, so that means we've got hellafied cleaning to do between now and then. The talon still isn't running anyway, it'd be pretty lame if I had to drive the 1.8 to a DSM club-type meeting. My cousin got canned from his job, so he'll have plenty of spare time to work on that. Hopefully she'll be on the road in a week or two. We'll see.

If any of you people are worried about emissions testing or anything like that, my brother works at a Mr. Carwash that also does emissions testing. He's good friends with the guy that does all the tests. Apparently he'll let you get away with everything and anything if you know somebody he works with. Just something to keep in mind if any of you people are worried about passing emissions.

 

I think coney on westheimer will be a problem.
I still dont know how to spell that street.
There will be piles of bikes there. They even close
down the neighboring shopping center. we just need to

I think I actually have all weekend off for a change, so if anyone else wants to we can hang out at my house if that's ok. Looks like the Talon might be boosting by this weekend! Got home from work yesterday and my roomate had everything on except the exhaust/turbo/intercooler!! Turns out I need a new timing belt tensioner, so I'm getting that tonight from Satan. Now I just gotta change the motor mounts and I'm set!!

this sounds good. why doesnt 1.8 too slow post the next message and lets all meet up on saturday night. then, we can cruise down to brittmore where there is some real racing. we can all cruise down there cause i go pretty much every other weekend and im sick-n-tired of representing diamond star motors all alone. i end up putting a name out but i would like to have fellow dsm owners out there too.

I'm not very familiar with the area yet, just where is brittmore? I just moved here in august from minnesota doncha know, 'eh? As I said before, I live in Humble. That's pretty much the only area I know worth a damn. I know how to get to Westheimer, Hwy 59, I45, Beltway 8, and that's about it. I'm game to meeting at my house, then going wherever. Doesn't really matter all that much to me. If we do decide to meet at my house, y'all will hafta excuse the mess we call a garage. I don't think you'll be that offended by it, it's exclusively 4G63/4G37/420A parts scattered about.

not sure, but there's an import shop in the Bellaire area forgot the name though.

UPDATE on the talon!!

Well we finally got the talon running this weekend. Turns out my idling problems were thanks to the genius who owned my car before me. He decided non-turbo injectors would be ok. Amazingly enough, not even the CEL is on! The first thing we did was do a HUGE smoke-show in front of our house. I gotta get that outta my system since my next project will be making the Talon AWD again. Now I just gotta get it titled and insured.

 

I checked with Hocus Pocus and Carboy, but neither of them had a AWD dyno. Guess Im doomed to a G-tech

Cool. www.importrevolution.com has more info on it. It doesn't say how much the tickets are, but they can't be all the expensive.
